Happy 2018

Itโ€™s time for a change.

Itโ€™s always time for a change, and thereโ€™s no better time for change than the present.

It doesnโ€™t matter that it happens to be New Yearโ€™s Day, although that sometimes helpsโ€ฆ out with the old and in with the new, and all that. Itโ€™s also a Full Moon tonight, funnily enough. That also helps with change, and the fact that it is the first of two Full Moons this month gives it more meaning. And the fact that the second Full Moon this month is the first of two Blue Moons in the beginning three months of this year adds even more power.

How does the saying go? Once in a Blue Moon.

The power for change is there. It always is. And it is there for the taking.

During my little break away, I came within a hairโ€™s breadth of publishing my book. So close in fact the first dab of ink almost touched the first page.

Back in the 1980s, I read a book by Susan Jeffers called Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway. Iโ€™ve always held myself back in one way or another, and this book, at certain times,ย  sprung to mind on the occasions when I needed a gentle push, and I went for it. It did help, on the occasions I went for it.

With my book, I was ready to click โ€˜Submitโ€™ to begin the publishing process. And I froze.

My real name would become known. I thought.

Tax. I donโ€™t understand tax. I pondered. Arrghhh!โ€ฆ International Tax โ€“ how do I cope with that? I feared.

I feared.

I hit โ€˜Deleteโ€™. I donned a blackout mask whilst swiftly flicking off the light switch and dove beneath my duvet in the now darkened room, where I lay, quivering, for the next hour or so.

And then I thought I can learn about tax and how it works. I still have the book, I only deleted the file that was being submitted for publication, so I can improve that whilst Iโ€™m learning. I can write another book. A better book.

I can carry on as before, but better, more knowledgeable and ready.

I can become a better version of me.

A better writer.

A better artist.

A better person.

I can go for it. I know it. I can feel the fear and do it.

And by Jiminy I will.

This is my half-century year.

A year with two Blue Moons, with the second Blue Moon being in the month that I turn 50. (For those who know me, I will remain 24 โ€“ change doesnโ€™t need to happen that fast, you know!)

A magical time.

So, let the magic begin!

HAPPY 2018!

Did I know you were thinking of a book? If so I had forgotten which is pretty normal for me these days. Go for it my friend.!
50??? It scared my son but he got over it and now he will flirt with 51 in a few days. Me?? On the 25th I will be 73 and I do wonder where time has gone and how much more is there. Not up to me so we will see.
The sun is shining but very cold for us in the sunny South. 16 this morning…14 tomorrow and we won’t talk about the “real feel” which is single numbers. Brrr.
Get the book going…I can’t wait. Oh….Happy New Year!!!

Hiya Beverly – and thank you – and Happy New Year!
      I’m not worried about turning 50, it’s just a number to me, and I stopped aging officially at 24 ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
I shall say Happy Birthday to you now, for I will forget. I forget everything, but will TRY to remember.
I mention the book every now and again, but not very often. My tagline is ‘A future writer living in the present day’ and it doesn’t seem to change much – although I get very close at times!
      Ah well.
Time will tell with regards to the book.
      Keep warm over there!

Do it and have a wonderful 2018, whatever it brings youโ€™ll always have friends to support you through it xx

      Hi Claire! Happy New Year!
You’re absolutely right, of course! I just have to do it – and finish what I start.
I’m not rushing things, however. But I will do it – one day! ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks, MrsCraft… I will keep at it.
It isn’t really the fear that’s holding me back this time, however… it’s the success! Not to sound big-headed or anything, but what if it takes off??? Eeek!
Happy New Year to you! ๐Ÿ˜€

To do 2018 right TL, allow yourself to accept who you are as you are and there is NO need to be better…We humans spend too much time trying to better ourselves rather than loving who we already are….Just a thought. Good luck with the book my friend….VK ๐Ÿ™‚

You are right as usual, VK, but I just want to feel better about myself and discard the stuff that I don’t like about me… it’s only for me, though, and not for anybody else (even though that sounds incredibly selfish!)
I will keep the bits I’m happy with, however (so I haven’t go that much to change. Hehehe! ๐Ÿ˜€ )
I shall see where the book goes. You know me and time (and stuff!) Happy New Year to you… and Happy Full Moon!

That makes sense, Shree… but publishing, working and learning about tax is a little too taxing for my ‘young’ head (hehehe!) right now. But one day…
Happy New Year to you also! And yes. Two Blue Moons (and you never know… maybe even two books? I’m still aiming high if not quite reaching there just yet! ๐Ÿ˜€ )
