Oh Baby; You Baboon!

Todayโ€™s painting for #WorldWatercolorMonth has been fraught by problems. I found a photo on line of a cute baby baboon, pencilled the outline on a piece of watercolour paper (measuring 2.5 X 3.5 inches, as this is another version of an ATC/ACEO), and then left it to one side. And instead of saving myself a sneaky copy of the photo, I saved the Google Image webpage as a favourite instead. I do things like that at times. Donโ€™t ask me why.

So, when I returned to the saved image page, my image had gone. It was nowhere to be found. So I had to find an almost similar image, and fill in the colours from that image and my memory.

I think I got away with that partโ€ฆ although I would have done, had I not made the colours a little too wet, and they all ran into each other. But once again, I think I managed to rescue that as well.

So now, I present my fifth painting from our little safari, a baby baboon, kindly posing on a rock for us. Iโ€™ve also included a photo below with a paintbrush, just so you can see the size of the paintings, this theme of mine kind of โ€˜enhancesโ€™ the size of the images slightly. Not that Iโ€™m complaining.

This has been another post for #WorldWatercolorMonth, and you can still find more details by clicking the link below:

Monkeys are fun . We once had a pet wooly monkey when my #1 son was small. Great fun and they are smart. Your painting reminded me of the fun times.

    Good piece again Tom! ๐Ÿ™‚

I could never have a pet in my flat, so I adopted a brick.

It’s very obedient: I tell it to stay and it doesn’t move an inch!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    God Bless!

Best pets ever, Prenin, bricks. They are listed just before trees, although trees can leaf a mess at times… (you may groan…)

I think perhaps this little chap should be called Charles. Even maybe Prince Charles. I don’t know why that name came up as an ideal one for this tiny little boy, but it seemed like an ideal name for him. [snort] lol

      How odd, Cobs.
