Today’s painting for #WorldWatercolorMonth has been fraught by problems. I found a photo on line of a cute baby baboon, pencilled the outline on a piece of watercolour paper (measuring 2.5 X 3.5 inches, as this is another version of an ATC/ACEO), and then left it to one side. And instead of saving myself a sneaky copy of the photo, I saved the Google Image webpage as a favourite instead. I do things like that at times. Don’t ask me why.
So, when I returned to the saved image page, my image had gone. It was nowhere to be found. So I had to find an almost similar image, and fill in the colours from that image and my memory.
I think I got away with that part… although I would have done, had I not made the colours a little too wet, and they all ran into each other. But once again, I think I managed to rescue that as well.
So now, I present my fifth painting from our little safari, a baby baboon, kindly posing on a rock for us. I’ve also included a photo below with a paintbrush, just so you can see the size of the paintings, this theme of mine kind of ‘enhances’ the size of the images slightly. Not that I’m complaining.
