Megalith

Through the mists, the storms, the turbulence of time
They have stood
Mysterious relics of a bygone age
Backbone, support and strength
For themselves and others
Created by ancient hands
As a message perhaps
For hope
Togetherness
Connectedness
Solitude and Solace
Celebration of Solstice
And an offering of the land
From the land
To the land
Hands and minds long gone
Stories long forgotten
Legends created and rewritten
But the megaliths still stand
And with them
Perhaps
Their message of hope
For a future
Long forgotten to them
And their creators

Very nice. I’m looking at your image and imagining how you did it, now that I’ve had one half hour play! How long does it take for you to do that, and do you have to save each change to do the next layer as it were?

      Thanks, Raili.
Firstly, however, I must tell you this wasn’t created in PowerPoint, although another piece of software called ‘Bryce’ which allows for 3D landscapes and seascapes to be created. I’m working hard to reveal this system’s secrets and I seem to be getting there.
With PowerPoint, it depends what I’m creating. Sometimes, I may need to save a group of shapes to form part of the bigger scene later on. I have some quick pointers on my other blog, Splodge and Splatter, but I think I’ll do a post over there explaining all the steps I take. It really is fun once you get into it!

Thanks, Eugenia. The stone circle wasn’t on my mind when I started the image, but I was mysteriously led there! ๐Ÿ˜€

Fabulous Tom… Yes those stone circles certainly hold their mystery even now.. And your working with these images are excellently done..
Having played within the PP process, I know the amount of effort required to achieve such perfection. So well done.. xxx ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, Sue. Yes, stone circles do have a distinct pull, don’t they?
This image wasn’t created in PowerPoint, Sue, but another piece of software called ‘Bryce’. This isn’t as tricky as PowerPoint, I feel, although it still has its own secrets to reveal to me.
I just like creating digital images, it seems! ๐Ÿ˜€

    Nice work, Tom.
Love the poem. It has such depth of feeling. I kind of almost want to describe it as ‘meaty’. So beautiful. Well done.

Amazing what one finds in the Grinds ๐Ÿ˜† You know these sort of ancient megaliths are also found on other worlds in time and space…..the mysterious relics of ancient alien civilisations that once inhabited these worlds where now only the haunting sigh of the star winds sliding through eerie silent megaliths remains โ˜บ

There’s all sorts of things out there, Icewolf. It’s the looking and the seeing that brings them to the front. And the imaginings, if there’s something just slightly blocking the view, of course! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m working on that sort of basis trying to get past bloggers block and get the wolfie act together before my blog vanishes in a puff of underused imagination! There is definitely something blocking the view on that front at the moment! ๐Ÿ˜‰

You need to look to the stars, Icewolf. Or better still, have a fly around them – inspiration flies much freer up there!

True! Actually had some great inspiration a couple of days ago….typed it all up with my eager inner typist lol and then came back to it later only to feel utterly uninspired by my efforts and am currently back to uninspired square one! Sigh… ๐Ÿ˜ž Back to flying around the stars wondering what went so terribly wrong with my little inspires masterpiece! lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, that’s a little more minor than I had in mind, but sometimes it has to be done! You could write about the coercive effects of 3am… I thought this was just a folk tale, but it does seem to be a thing that more of us are experiencing. Hmmm…

One thing I have learned is the fact that there are many smaller stone circles which don’t appear to have been recorded.

There are many questions and few answers! ๐Ÿ™‚

    God Bless!
