The Butterfly Effect–Onwards and Outwards

Towards the end of September last year, this chap/chappess appeared in the Grinds, hopping from leaf to leaf, posing for a few photos to be taken. Some with the wings wide open, others with them tightly closed.

(S/)he returned the following day, at around the same time, and did exactly the same thing.

After those two days, the colourful visitor had moved on to somewhere new, obviously knowing that I had taken enough photos to share in a post when needed.

So, this is the post.

Wikipedia says:

In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.

Basically what starts small in one place, ends up huge somewhere else. My little butterfly friend here with each flap of his wings in the Grinds can cause gale-force winds elsewhere on the planet due to the law of Cause and Effect. The tiny breeze spreads ever outwards, expanding and growing as it goes. It’s a well-known phenomenon.

My little butterfly friend here is also sending out a little subliminal message: Feel Good. Soon, those Feel Good vibes will be hurtling through every avenue around the world, touching anybody who happens to be there. Whether they notice or not is up to them, but the message is going out.

Start by Feeling Good within, then spread a little goodness to those around, and then watch the goodness grow. Not a bad theory, is it?

#EDIT… those pesky gremlins are back, trying to prevent this post from being posted. But posted it will be!!!#

  1. Tom…. You are the 5th blog now that WP has unfollowed from me .. I had thought I had not seen you in my reader or emails.. And I arrive here by back tracking your comments in my comment section to find I was now no longer following you..

So I am sorry my friend for not visiting.. I was visiting people less this last few weeks while I was not feeling too well.. But today I have been sat in my reader all afternoon..

I am really annoyed at WP.. as it appears comment replies I do not get and replies I make others do not get.. And others I have spoken too seem to be having similar probs..

Beautiful post Your butterfly message must have reached out to me..
    Love and Blessings Sue

    1. Thanks, Sue, and no worries… I’ve had a bit of a break from blogging myself recently, due to ‘external circumstances’ shall we say (a euphemism for me stressing myself out!) But I’m back now, hopefully stronger and better.
These WordPress glitches pop up from time to time, and they are frustrating (I know, I’ve experienced my fair share!) but with a platform as big as WordPress I suppose it must be tricky for them to keep things ticking over correctly and also keep things fresh and current without having to take things down so we can blog 24/7… there are bound to be cracks that even the largest gremlins can get through. That said when the glitches do arise they seem to last an age before being resolved which can take the edge off. On the whole it’s a good platform and worth putting up with the issues every now and again. (I had a problem posting yesterday, but finally managed it!) Anyhoo, thanks for the re-follow once again. Much appreciated! πŸ™‚
As for the butterfly reaching out – yes, that makes sense! Let’s hope the message continues reaching out further!

      1. I agree Tom.. WP is a good platform to work from.. I love it. Sorry to hear you too have been absent a while too.. I deliberately took time away from blog land for a while to allow my energies to gain strength.. I think many of us are feeling the pressures, which some years ago we would have sailed through.. But the collective energies are pushing in on us and, I for one let them get me down.. Good to see you back .. And Keep that Butterfly effect going Tom.. Hugs your way x Sue
