#WorldWatercolorMonth Day Three
I’m still experimenting with watercolour (and I think I will be for a while!) and ideas for said watercolour paintings to be somewhat different from the previous one.
This painting is meant to have a dream-like feel to it. As with yesterday’s post, I simply painted (although I did pencil in the central figure’s outline to get started). The structure in the background is meant to resemble a dreamcatcher, with an interpretation of the vast Universe behind it. The figure has her mystical third eye open, and then the whole image is also meant to resemble an eye’s iris. That’s how it ended up. When I first started the painting, my intentions were far grander. I’d imagined a native American woman in the foreground, still with the dreamcatcher and Universe background behind, but also featuring a wolf, an owl, a drum, and a selection of feathers. One day I shall revisit this (after a few months of practice!) and create the actual image I’d envisioned.
I’m happy with this image, however. I’ve had to shape it slightly for the blog, as the original image is less round, and the more I attempted to make it rounder, the less rounder it got! But thank goodness for PowerPoint!
There are many stars included in this image, including the central character. She’s been created in honour of one of Blogland’s stars in my eyes (of which there are many, I hasten to add!), Sue Dreamwalker.
