It’s been one of those days today.
I left the Mansion early this morning to a crisp but warmish morning. The sun hadn’t fully risen, but it was light. There were pink fluffy clouds dotted all over the sky, and it appeared – at face value – that it was going to be a nice day, ideal for Spring.
I got into the car just in time.
The fluffy pink clouds had turned grey instantly. And menacingly heavy. As I started driving, the heavens opened and the winds were whipped up into a frenzy.
The car was buffeted left and right, and the windscreen wipers were almost flung off, out into the far reaches of the Universe, as I had them on so fast to try to compensate for the rain. Visibility was less than zero per cent. Yes, I know that isn’t possible, but it was like that this morning. All I could see was the inside of the car and blurred wipers sweeping back and forth without making much of a difference, so I could only see before what I want to… see – less than zero per cent.
I got to work OK, as the rains stopped.
I glanced out of the window during the morning, and noticed we were in the midst of a very heavy blizzard. Considering that we don’t really get that much snow here in Cheshire, it was pretty surreal.
The snow didn’t last – I think the winds moved it on to some place else.
At lunchtime, it was all I could do to walk to the car because of the wind. It was warm and sunny at that time, but extremely windy, so I had to walk in an almost horizontal position to compensate, just to keep upright.
This afternoon was calm and wet. The winds had subsided, but the rain was constant. When I left work, the rains had become torrential once again.
Luckily, my windscreen wipers held their ground.
This evening is bitterly cold. It looks as though we may have frost overnight… although with how the weather’s changing that rapidly at present, I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t have brilliant sunshine…
