Happy Leap Year Day (what’s left of it!)
And moving swiftly on…
Here’s a quick screenshot of part of my dashboard:
I don’t like showing my dashboard very often, but felt it absolutely necessary for this post. And, for this post, I apologise. And ask for your help and support.
As you can see, the screenshot shows I have posted 1,601 times now, and mixed in with those posts are 21,367 comments (and a big hello and thank you goes out to all who have called by over the past few decades to comment! It’s only been since 2010, truth be told, but sometimes a day feels like a decade, so there you go.)
I’ve actually posted more times than 1,601, but on my other two blogs, so their count doesn’t count within this count.
I’ve set myself a goal. A specific goal to reach 2000 posts on Beyond the Sphere (or whatever name this blog goes by if it changes along the way!) by midnight on December 31st 2016. That’s only 399 to go – no wait! 398 including this post. A quick reckoning of the number of days left in the year tells me that there are 306, so I need to include an extra 93 posts along the way to fit them all in. Posting every day with an extra 9.3 posts every month from March onwards.
It’s a bit like when magazines increase their cover price and promise to fit more in within their pages for your money – only this blog is free.
Expect more waffle!
Expect more drivel!
Wait! I’m not selling it very well.
Expect more quality blogging, the type of which you have never seen before, and the type that is only available on this blog! The type that makes you stop and think. Usually “Why?” or “What was all that about?”… but there you go, you still think.
I mentioned earlier asking for your help and support – and this is where you come in. As you probably know, every now and again I slam headlong into the solid wall that is known as Blogger’s Block. I get despondent. I want to curl up and never return to the computer ever again. But I have to push through it. During those times, I may mention it once or twice within my posts, could I ask that you provide me with a little push? A little blogger’s energy to spur me on? Maybe even a post idea or two? I know it’s cheeky to ask, but sometimes a little cheek can go a long way in a challenge. I’ll smile nicely and say please – but that goes without saying. And obviously, I will be eternally grateful.
It’s only 398 posts. I’ve posted 1,601 already. Have I mentioned that?
So. Please join with me – stand beside me – cheer me on – pick me up when I fall at the kerbside – pass me bottles of water along the way – throw me orange segments when I appear to be drying up – massage my aching muscles when I get cramp – no, no massage, thank you anyway. Too time consuming.
I’m pushing myself to achieve this. I started this blog as an experiment to see if I can do it, and I think, after 5 years, I can say that I can. It’s now time to up the ante. Get writing properly. Give myself a deadline and meet it.
It’s time to move up to the next level. See what I did there? That’s my theme for March. This post doesn’t count though, as it’s still February at the moment. Well, it counts toward the big count, so everything counts in the end.
Onwards and upwards… and the countdown has begun!
Sounds like fun! 🙂 Now where did I put my riding crop?..

I can’t quite remember where I saw it last, CM, but I hope you find it… it may come in handy! Here’s hoping it will be fun!

Thanks, Amy… it is rather, isn’t it?
The text looks like it’s part of this new theme I’m using – I’m still getting to grips with it…

I’m in…and of course any challenge I issue you, I have to take myself as well, so it will be a two-fer! I’ll bring the virtual champagne.

Thanks, Beth! And of course… a bit of healthy competition is always good… as is healthy champagne! 😀

That’s quite a challenge you have set yourself! I am just going to go and get my chair and flask/champagne and settle down on the sidelines to cheer you on.
You asked for ideas for posts – how about ‘A day in the life’, ”The view from my window’ , ‘Signs of spring around the mansion’, ‘Where I grew up’,….. 😊

I don’t blame you, Elaine. Champagne seems key at the moment! 😀
And thank you for your suggestions – I will probably be using them! (Although I have a regular view from the window feature your suggestion is slightly different!)

Go, Tom! Woohooo!!! If you’re looking for ideas, here’s one place to start: http://www.getspokal.com/i-challenged-myself-to-create-100-blog-post-ideas-in-30-minutes/
I haven’t tried the challenge myself, but it looks like fun!

Thanks, Diane, and thanks also for the link. I’m sure I will be suing the challenge myself at some point – especially if I have another week like last week!

Oh my, I’ve jsut given up putting time pressures on myself. Did you happen to pick them up?
I’m sorry. I should have thrown them out properly. I never imagined they be tempting to anyone.
Well, somehow, I think you’ll do a better job than I did.
Good Luck … God Speed … do take a lunch bag or biscuit. Rain water helps.
Oh … blogging ideas – Mmmmm …. Ummmmm …. I’ll have to give it some thought. 🙄
p.s. I LOVE the banner image. Fantastic !!!

It looks like I did, Isadora! But no worries… I like being busy!
The banner image will be constantly changing over the next few months… I can’t seem to stick to the same one for long!

The colors great …. it looks mesmerizing. Is that what you intention was. It’s like one is these are the signals floating inside the mind ( if I can quote my blog name – hehe ) . It took me a long time to be happy with both the banners on my blogs. ~~ : – 0

Definitely willing to cheer you on. This reminded me of one of my sons (much loved goes without saying) who when he had finished a book and was asked what was it like, would say “that was 26 pages… or 30 or … xx”. I think he was about 7 at the time. I’ll be reading, you can do the counting. [and the writing]

Love the new look also, and the neat pinkish red typo in the comment box, Very neat..
Congratulations upon the Stats too.. I wish you well in reaching your goal..
Good Luck.. and hope you enjoyed the first day of Spring.. Did you notice! Snow forecast.. Typical 🙂

Thanks, Sue. It’s weird, but I just feel I ‘need’ to post every day – which is why I feel frustrated when Blogger’s Block suddenly turns up out of the blue!
The red text is in-built in this new WordPress theme I’m using (“Orvis” – sounds like those old TV commercials where’th young lad rord his cycle up them cobbled hills with this lorf in the basket! 😉 ) I’m not sure if it will change when I change the colours… we’ll find out though, no doubt!
I didn’t realise it was the first day of Spring. It’s been that cold lately, Spring seems way off in the future!
