Foreigners

He sat, alone, at the bar.

She walked in, with a couple of friends, oblivious.

He watched as she tripped over the carpet.

She smiled at her friends and carried on regardless.

He admired her pose.

She carefully glanced around the room.

He looked at the clock, ready to go home.

She sat beside him, looking over her shoulder, toward her friends.

He noticed a sparkle in her eyes.

She noticed him looking.

He said “Hi.”, he said “you’re new here.”

She said “Plink quing fulp pwarp zazza dome ulp.”

He knew that beginnings weren’t necessarily going to be easy.

That was a hundred words exactly. Who, he, she, they, where, why, and what… well, only one phrase is fitting here… To Be Continued… hehehe… you never know; we may find out…

I found a basic translator somewhere online, Prenin, which was where I’d gleamed the ‘greetings’ from, although the rest is still Gr – erm – Klingon to me! 😀

Well, at least she speaks in more than squiggles, and not back to front, and isn’t covered from head to toe. Promising.

Col, she does, she doesn’t, and perhaps she isn’t… hmmm…
‘Poise’ would fit, but I had in mind her doing a ‘ta dah!’ stance to an imaginary (or otherwise) camera. I’ve restricted myself to one hundred words a piece with this multi-part tale, but hopefully within those hundred word sections we will find out what is actually going on. I emphasise ‘hopefully’… so we shall see.

argumentatively To get away with ‘pose’ you would have needed extra words indicating she had struck one, instead of carrying on regardless. Anyway, I admire her turn of phrase.

No argument, Col, I can see exactly what you’re saying! I think I tweaked Part Two just enough to get around it…

Thanks, Sue. I’ve added parts two and three now. I’m still none the wiser, however!
