The Room with the Broken Window

The Room

Wind howled through the broken window, caused by the branch of the large oak during the great storm.

I was surrounded by an eerie darkness; the only light coming into the room was from the candlelight in the corridor outside the partly open door.

Trying to keep as quiet as I could, I waited. I heard footsteps in the hallway coming closer to the room.

I held my breath.

The door swiftly opened and bright torchlight shone into the room, straight through me. I waited for them to leave again before I rattled my chains.

That always makes them scream!

A quick repost to get the spookiness going… mwa haha ha! Wanders off, rattling chains…

I think we are a month ahead of ourselves…it claims to be Sept 28 today and it was at least 24 degrees in town today! And lovely hot sunshine! The trees are still in full green bloom and everyone is out in their summer wear 🙂 I do believe it is in fact August 28!! So! This means you are in fact 2 months early for H’ween!!!

You’re right you know, Icewolf… it’s been very warm of late. Mind you, we’ve had a bit of a mixed up year weather-wise anyhow.

Fall may have kicked in by you, Tom, but this weekend here in New York, still felt summer-like — sunny, warm, and in the low eighties. Alas, it won’t last and soon it will be your favorite spooky season for chain rattling.

It’s been quite Summer-esque here as well lately, LA. Apart from the golden falling leaves that is.

Very friendly, Sue. I’ve met one who turned my music system’s volume up to very high after I’d unplugged the system, but that’s as close as I’ve got. Chain-rattling… I think I wouldn’t mind hearing that now!

Yes I bet sometimes the silence is deep within the mansion Tom.. But you are only ever a thought away from any Ghost Tom. And when we send… They Listen.. not always can they turn the radio on, Cool when they do that.. 😉 But then a song on the radio will have a message, or a line in a book.. or we are given a sign.. Preferably not a ‘Broken Window!’ lol

I love it when those messages come through, Sue. The music on the radio has to be my favourite ‘coincidence’ here though!
