Storm Front

Between the rain and through the wind, the lightning illuminates the horizon. Low cloud is coming inland, the sandy beach completely covered by a swarming mass of murky and cold-yet-clear seawater.  The jagged rocks, slowly starting to fade to invisibility, with reflections more clear than the real thing, are once again braced for the oncoming onslaught of the elements. Gulls and other creatures are well hidden, and well ready for the foreboding storm. The skies are heavy, and the only hint of blue is not from the sky itself, but the reflection of the lightning in the swirls of water. Time, I think, to get home before the storm begins…

    I love thunder storms! 🙂

We had a bad one a few years back that lasted two hours and which I have on video tape as I recorded the whole thing!!! 🙂

It was a VERY violent storm that flooded the Close knee deep with putrid water from the drains, my young friend Hanna wading in it to see how deep it was! 🙂

    What a storm! 🙂

    God Bless!

    Prenin.

Yes, I like the sound of a good storm, Prenin… especially at night, when I’m tucked up in bed and I can hear the thunder and lightning outside. Usually, though, all I hear is the rain!

There’s something oddly relaxing about watching a storm brew, isn’t there Diane?

Storms are particularly amazing in the mountains. I love to sit on the porch and watch the rain race up to me.

The mountain storms do sound amazing, Andra. The nearest mountain to me is in Wales and I have never experienced a storm anywhere near there… I have seen the rain race along a road toward me thought, which was quite surreal!

We’re in the eye of the storm right now, Tom: very still, no wind at all when half an hour ago the trees were dancing wildly. Weather can be so high energy.

      Can’t it just, Kate!
Apparently we’ve gone back to March weather-wise, so strong winds are due…

I love storms with strong winds and thunder and lightning!! Not typhoon or hurricane sort of intensity of course!

There’s something about extreme weather that’s very appealing (but not too extreme, as you say Shree!)
