A familiar face appears within my mind’s eye…
An unforgettable face, no matter how I try.
A kind face, a peaceful face, but one without a smile,
A sad face, a lonely face, seemingly lonely for a while.
A confused face, an old face, pleasant all the same,
A lost face, a needy face, a face with just one name.
Florence, I say within, and her eyes glow big and bright
Her elfin looks younger than the age she is tonight.
She’s reaching out for something, and getting through to me,
Although what she needs isn’t clear: try harder, please, for me.
She remembers clearly days gone by, then drifts away again
When you’re stronger, I think to her, please come through again.
Please be strong

Hi Jen, I think I was briefly touching on Alzheimer’s here, but didn’t want to go too far with it. With the image of Florence appearing in my mind, I wanted to ‘send’ strength to her so thought of writing this rhyme. I don’t know anything about Florence apart from the fact she was very confused…

What an intriguing soul, inhabiting dreamland or some other ether…and you bring her to life for the rest of us. Thanks, Tom.

Florence…such a beautiful name,Sir Aquatom, (of the Roundabouts) and you describe her in such a way that you get a ‘feel’ for her and hope she does return, stronger… xPenx

I hope she returns stronger too, Pen. I would love to be able to write about her next visit sometime soon…

I think that perhaps Jen is right on this one
or maybe it is of a stroke victim that you have
written about Aquatom? Do have a nice rest
of evening and weekend…Androgoth

Hi Andro, I feel Jen is more on the right lines too, if that makes sense, although, apart from the fear and confusion I sense from Florence she is fine in herself.
