Candlelight and Shadowdance

Candle and ShadowWatch the shadows bob and weave
As the candle’s flame sighs and breathes
Glowing bright,
Fading low,

Suddenly, the flame once more glows…
The flame:  It dips, and drips, and      bows, and stretches
Casting shadows in all directions
The shadows dance as though connected
Wrapping around the light projected
From the candle that is very still
The flame is alive,
Yet the shadows
All act
Upon its will.

Thank you, Bex. I hope the effect is visible as I intended it, but some devices may not show the screen at the same size, and then the colours are a bit all over the place!

Beautiful and descriptive words, Sir Aquatom, and the design is a marvel to see…., The whole feel of this piece is a joy, the way you’ve worked the flame into the poem through the use of shade and colour… I feel misty eyed, mayhap the candle flame is blowing a smoke trail this way… as nowadays we miss the small things, a flickering candle, giving a glow and atmospheric flicker to a darkened room, instead we have the useful and rudimentary switching on of a light, banishing the darkness with it’s cold cruel fingers at night… xPenx
