Second Guessing

I think I’ll take a break from all of these mind-thing posts, for a short time at least, as I’m starting to meet myself coming backwards, and my intention of bringing clarity to myself is actually causing more confusion and more questions! Do I look? Am I open? What have I missed? What might I miss if I do that instead of doing this? One thing I can’t start doing is second guessing anything.

I think it is OK to want to know things, and to find a clear direction for whatever we are doing, but sometimes it is just as good to simply allow things to happen as and when they do. I always say that everything happens for a reason. That’s fine. There’s a lesson to be learned in every situation. That’s OK too. We are also here to live in the moment, and true living does not involve over analysing everything.

What kind of life would I have if I were to have several things on the go, just in case the main thing I intended to do didn’t work out as it should? I can’t enjoy what I am doing as I’m expecting it to fail by having a back up plan. Not that there is anything wrong with back up plans either… but how can I really enjoy and be focussed on one thing if I have alternatives as well? And especially if people are involved too… someone is going to be let down. And more than likely that will be me!

It’s all to do with the Law of Attraction. What we give our attention to is what we get back. If we give out confused signals, by focusing on more than one thing, we will receive confusion back. We are paying attention to confusion (well, actually all what we are giving our attention to is causing the confusion, but confusion is the overall feeling) and confusion is what we will see more of.

Second guessing anything doesn’t help. It just adds more to the mix.

I think an ideal way out is to just be open to what we need when we need it. That way, we won’t be overwhelmed by information overload. We won’t need an alternative as we will be receiving everything that we need anyway.

I read a quote recently, “Look wide and be lucky” (Told you I’d use it, Bex!), and I think that sums things up nicely. If we are open to receive whatever we need at the right time, there is no need to narrow our attention, as we will be doing whatever we need to at the right time for us anyway. And if we are receiving what we need at the right time, how lucky does that make us? We have no need to second guess anything, as everything is just right. And if everything is just right, there is no need to over analyse anything. We can just be. We can live in the moment, and be happy.

Now, that is what I like. More living and less waffle!

I still feel good though, even with all of the confusion! 🙂
