There’s a saying that goes something like don’t play with fire… which is common sense when you think about it… although there must be – has to be – a fine line between playing with it and looking into it… deeply, elementally, I mean, not just watching the flames flicker.
I did just that, looked into it; I was actually absorbed by it, hypnotised, taken into it. I felt the flames lick around my body, gently caressing my skin, holding me tightly and I was transported to its point of creation… a light realm where there are dark flames that serve no other reason but to part the light… they are the flames’ shadows, if you like, dancing to keep the light and the light-dwellers alive.
It didn’t take me long to realise this was my home, this world of light, and the elemental spirit that brought me here was my own spirit, showing me how I could live if I wanted to choose my heritage, my destiny.
My only problem with that is my human side… my life here… my family, friends, people yet to meet and adventures yet to go on.
So, I’ve returned to my human home, fully accepting my salamander soul spirit, a hybrid now straddling two worlds… and who knows… perhaps now, double the adventures await.
