This reverse rhyme poem is quirky, as the rhyming word begins the line. Each line can be up to five syllables, but never more. It can be any length, line wise, but the first two lines must be repeated in reverse for the last two lines.
It’s all total nonsense, of course, as although the poem is about nonsense, it has to make sense. Talk about meeting yourself coming backwards!
Square is my heart
Where are thee
Glasses so cloudy
Clashes with vision
Seems surreal
Dreams blurred
Truth be told
Youth long gone
Where are thee
Square is my heart
Oh, and the first two lines are also the last two lines reversed. I may have said that.
Do you think this form will take off?
Perhaps you’d like to leave your own pioneer poem in the comments…
