Bridge

For One Word Sunday this week, Debbie’s theme is Bridge.

My photo is of a steep pathway leading up to the bridge, which is weak. The bridge, that is, although I suppose the photo could be as well!

Imagine if the other side of the bridge is the future. The fabulous, glowing, pandemic-free future. All we have to do to get there is keep positive, climb that pathway and then walk or run headlong into that great future.

I’m bored of hearing about the pandemic now. I’m bored of hearing about all the restrictions. I understand why they are necessary, but I’m bored of them. Life is for living.

We will get back to full living once we reach the other side. We just have to keep on keeping on, and Feeling Good about what life we have now. We can’t give up… and we certainly can’t allow this pandemic to continue for much longer.

I’m going back to sleep now to try to clear away this gloomy cloud!

    I just wish I could get out more. I love exploring corners of my city but am limiting them, somewhat, to be safe.

    Beaches open and nature reserves too. We buy a bottle of wine (or a case, in my case). Happy again 🙂 and you will be too, I’m sure, Tom. There’s light at the end of the tunnel!

      Indeed there is, Chris. I can see the end of the pandemic in my mind’s eye, it’s not too far away, but I keep catching negative reports which are most certainly not helping things!

      I can see the end of this, Beverly, in my mind’s eye; I’m seeing it not too far away with things gradually starting to ease now… only then a negative account comes along and pushes it back a little. We’ll get there… 🙂

    Hopefully you felt more hopeful when you woke up, Tom. I’m not bored with the C-19 coverage, more just tired of it, which may be very similar. There’s very little new news, just rehashes of old coverage. I’m also tired of people complaining about wearing masks. Such a small thing to do and if that’s the worst thing in your life, you should thank God every single day! If more people took more care, we might be closer to a normal life now.

      The gloom had disappeared, thanks, Janet, and I am more hopeful again now. I can’t believe the hoo har over the masks, either. I can’t see wearing them anywhere near as annoying as contracting the illness or passing it on. Some people, hey? We’re getting there… I can feel it! 🙂

        If the only thing that might happen to someone who insisted on his/her rights (and I’m all for individual rights most of the time) would be that he/she got sick and risked dying, then fine. Go for it and don’t wear a mask. But one thing we do know for sure is that approach doesn’t work. As it says some places, I wear my mask for you, you wear yours for me. Man up and mask up!

          Exactly! That makes perfect sense to me. It’s all about looking after each other, and currently it’s also the decent thing to do.

    BC hit the nail on the head in her comment….Where will all of this end? Who and what will we be? I think the first thing we best get correct is which direction we are headed in. Obviously we can’t all go in the direction we want which emphasizes the need for each of us to create our own reality, for that is the only one we can count on. The second thing we need to do is figure out how to build the ‘bridge’ needed to bring everybody together. Heavy thoughts. Stay upright and keep peaceful TL….I hope your today’s are better than your yesterdays and even better in your tomorrows! VK

      I hope all of our tomorrows are better, VK… and soon tomorrows at that, not distant ones! If we keep going as positive as we can be, we’ll get there… with or without the odd gloomy diversions along the way. 🙂

    I’ve had it and lived, nearly lost my friend Peter to it, now Nicki has it too.

    The news from America is grim, Trump having made no effort to control the virus and now 170,000+ are dead and an American is dying every 80 seconds of the virus.

    If only running up to a bridge and crossing into a bright future were possible I’d do it. 😦 ❤

    It is such a strange time…
    time goes by and yet somehow it feels like we have not been living. I get what you say here…the way you feel. I think the key is to really try to do the best we can each day. And then hopefully they will find a vaccine and we can reach back for the things we missed…but maybe also keep a little something that we found during this time.
