This one here and that one over there look like sentries, don’t you think? Standing guard so nothing can pass this point on either side.
Or maybe they’re posts of some invisible energy field that runs across the land and the water.
Or maybe they’re just the remains of a couple of trees not willing to leave the land where they’ve stood for so long.

Great shot and suggestion, Tom. Full of mystery and energy. And now from the bottom of the foreground tree, I see a dragon’s head pointing upwards, with closed eyes and a slightly gaping mouth complete with teeth. Also a small ear pointing downwards and even a little crest above his head (left bottom side of tree). Oooh, spooky! But in a nice fun way 🙂
