Cute Critter Friday: The Mandarin Challenge

Yes, I know itโ€™s only Thursday. It actually feels like Wednesday to me, if you must know, but I know it is Thursday. I was meandering around the Lake earlier today โ€“ the very frozen Lake, might I add โ€“ and I saw this: ducks frozen in time. Then I looked closer. Not all were frozen. I then realised what they were doing – the Mandarin Challenge.

Yes, I know these arenโ€™t Mandarin Ducks, but there werenโ€™t any Mandarin Ducks on the Lake today, only normal ducks (even Tufty wasnโ€™t there!) and the โ€˜Duck Challengeโ€™ doesnโ€™t have the same effect that โ€˜Mandarin Challengeโ€™ does when one thinks of the Mannequin Challenge! Swiftly, I thought ahead and visited Wikipedia to borrow an image:

Ducks. Comical to watch at times. Next week, the hibernating Greenshield Bug attempts its version of the Mannequin Challenge!

Okay….I know we live on different shores and use different words at times but please enlighten me as to what the Mandarin challenge is???? Why is one duck moving and all else look dead? Are you goofing on us TL or is this real???? I can’t always tell with you ๐Ÿ™‚ VK

      Hehehe! Me, VK? Goofing? ๐Ÿ˜‰
No, this actually happened as I was around the Lake earlier. It put me in mind of a craze that’s working its way around the world at present where everyone is filmed as though they are frozen in time, and the person operating the camera walks amongst the others, and then the film is set to some tune… it’s known as the Mannequin Challenge.
Seeing the ducks like that made me smile, so I photographed them in the animated photo setting and that was the result. As Mandarin is a duck, and Mandarin and Mannequin are almost identical words (they are in my mind – everything works there! ๐Ÿ˜€ ) I merged the two together!
You know how surreal it gets around here at times.
By the way, as I walked passed the ducks afterwards, they all started to move and chatter, so all was good!

Ahhhh…That explains it! Thanks. I was wondering if it was me there for a second. I hadn’t heard about that challenge. Shows how plugged in I’m not! Great idea to put the two together. Thanks for the explanation…Have a great weekend ahead….VK ๐Ÿ™‚

The ducks are beautiful. I like the Mandarin Challenge better than the popular one!

Ha ha! Very clever – the Mandarin Mannequin challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚ We have mandarin ducks in our local park, but they are very elusive.

Not like the ones on the Lake then, Elaine, they are so friendly they’re almost tame!

    Good work Tom! ๐Ÿ™‚

Daffy is in a hotel and about to get down to the act of love when he realises he lacks protection.

He calls room service from his room and orders some condoms.

“Do want them on your bill?” Asks the clerk.

“Don’t be Thupid” Replies Daffy, “I’d Thuffocate!!!” ๐Ÿ™‚

    God Bless!
