Missing Eclipses

I’m fascinated by the skies, you may or may not be aware. If I’m not flying around in them, I’m staring upwards. Sometimes at the sky, sometimes beyond it. My head is very often up in the clouds… I’m either daydreaming or looking to see something magical happen.

There’s a Lunar Eclipse taking place right now, as I type. I can’t see it, however, the Moon is too low down in the sky – or too covered by cloud… the latter is usually the case when a Great Celestial Event takes place. I tend to miss them, although I did manage to see the Solar Eclipse last year – and get some pretty good photos too… the cloud cover actually helped that day!

This is the best photo I took without reflection. The Sun looks like the Moon here, so I’m pretending this is how the Full Moon looked earlier tonight… and yes, I know that tonight’s Eclipse only covers the Moon in shadow, but my imagination is showing it to me somewhat differently.

I tend to miss more events than see them… so seeing them makes them all the more special!

The image above is from the mystical isle of Elt Gored, where cloud cover didn’t stop the Lunar display as viewed from the ruined Central Temple.

At least if I don’t get to see these Celestial Events with my eyes, I can get to see them by other means… so all is good.

I’m going outside to look now, though I don’t feel hopeful!

My fascination is limited till sunset. 🙂 Full moon does allure me if it is visible from my Patio.

Oh, I know what you mean about the dreams, VK… I’ve had some corkers over the past few days… and I can remember most of them! And thanks – I like doing it! Hope you’ve had a good weekend.

Incredible! I’m much more of a cloud gazer than a star gazer. 🙂

That’s a good thing, Jo, as we tend to see rather a lot of clouds, don’t we? 😉 😀
