Missing Eclipses

Iโ€™m fascinated by the skies, you may or may not be aware. If Iโ€™m not flying around in them, Iโ€™m staring upwards. Sometimes at the sky, sometimes beyond it. My head is very often up in the cloudsโ€ฆ Iโ€™m either daydreaming or looking to see something magical happen.

Thereโ€™s a Lunar Eclipse taking place right now, as I type. I canโ€™t see it, however, the Moon is too low down in the sky โ€“ or too covered by cloudโ€ฆ the latter is usually the case when a Great Celestial Event takes place. I tend to miss them, although I did manage to see the Solar Eclipse last year โ€“ and get some pretty good photos tooโ€ฆ the cloud cover actually helped that day!

This is the best photo I took without reflection. The Sun looks like the Moon here, so Iโ€™m pretending this is how the Full Moon looked earlier tonightโ€ฆ and yes, I know that tonightโ€™s Eclipse only covers the Moon in shadow, but my imagination is showing it to me somewhat differently.

I tend to miss more events than see themโ€ฆ so seeing them makes them all the more special!

The image above is from the mystical isle of Elt Gored, where cloud cover didnโ€™t stop the Lunar display as viewed from the ruined Central Temple.

At least if I donโ€™t get to see these Celestial Events with my eyes, I can get to see them by other meansโ€ฆ so all is good.

I’m going outside to look now, though I don’t feel hopeful!

My fascination is limited till sunset. ๐Ÿ™‚ Full moon does allure me if it is visible from my Patio.

Incredible! I’m much more of a cloud gazer than a star gazer. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s a good thing, Jo, as we tend to see rather a lot of clouds, don’t we? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€
