Starlight Reflections

I sit upon a cloud, looking down upon the sleeping world below
I gaze intently at the Earth’s horizon, with its comforting deep blue glow
I ponder life as it is, and see it how it could really be
Then I realise that the only change I can make is a change within me

I float effortlessly as I fly around in the cooling Summer night air
Soft white clouds blanketing some stars above, although stars are everywhere
I watch a distant star twinkle brightly and then see it fade away
And I imagine one of that star’s worlds waking upon a brand new day

I hover, looking out across the millions of miles between this new world and mine
And I imagine one of its residents looking back at this exact same time
I feel an instant connection, across the vast emptiness of space
And even within my mind’s eye, I think I can make out a face

I open my mind, and begin to think of a nice and gentle way to say hello
And I notice that my new found friend appears to shake his head, and say no
I hear his voice reflected off the light of countless stars
You’re not yet ready to meet anyone new, your people are so different to ours

I sit upon a cloud, looking down upon the sleeping world below
I gaze intently at the Earth’s horizon, with its comforting deep blue glow
I ponder life as it is, and see it how it could really be
Then I realise that the only change I can make is a change within me

Oooh I like that Tom! Sent little shivers of enjoyment down the Wolfie spine and caused me to add my Wolfie howl to the voice amongst the stars as I called the song of the moon wolves across vast expanses of intergalactic space!

Even longer than that, Prenin! We can’t even welcome ourselves most of the time!
