The Northern Lights

The Aurora Borealis was visible from the UK last night, as far south as Staffordshire, which is the next county down from Cheshire. I didn’t get to see it in person, unfortunately, as I was looking in the other direction. One day I shall get to see this magnificent sight. One day very soon, I’m sure. Above is a composite image of how the Mansion would have looked, bathed in the radiant glow of those Northern Lights. Or maybe it did look like that… and I did see the Lights after all. You never know what’s real and what isn’t around these here parts…

Such a marvelously mysterious nighttime view, Tom. I can even hear the cheepers and peepers… 🙂

As long as you don’t hear the growlers and howlers, CM! 🙂

Well I had no chance of seeing it in Kent did I. You must have been looking my way?

I’ve heard of them reaching your far south in the past, Vanessa, so maybe one day? I probably was looking towards Kent when I missed them – or was inside with no view of the sky… in fact, possibly both! 😀

Reality pops in occasionally around here, VK… otherwise it’s just normal! 😀
Iceland is definitely calling me, and it isn’t as far away as Alaska!

I didn’t get to see them either Tom – too much cloud, too many street lights and I was in bed! 🙂

    God Bless!

Three good reasons there why you missed them, Prenin. They did make the news, though… 😉

It’s an incredible vision. I haven’t seen one either. Yes, I would love to.
Your photo is mysterious … it’s well lit in front yet the mansion is slightly concealed behind.

That’ll be the Mansion’s doing, Isadora. It crosses dimensions and half of the time nobody knows where it is!

Are you sure you didn’t see them Tom? The view looks amazing from here! How incredible though, for them to have appeared so close to you. I would love to see them, one of the many ‘to do’s’ on my ever growing list! 🙂

No, I completely missed them, Sherri.
I usually do, however. Meteor showers, eclipses and Northern Lights come and go, and I’m made aware of them the next day. I got to see the Solar Eclipse last year, however! (Was it last year? Sigh. I can’t remember now…!)

I think it was last year…we saw it partially. Incredible sight… I’ll be disappearing for a little while Tom, my mother suffered a stroke on Sunday and I can’t keep up the blogging pace right now with spending so much time in hospital with her and trying to hold down the fort at home. This is the first time I’ve been on blog since then, I don’t want to leave things undone. I’ll be back as soon as I can…meanwhile, take good care of yourself…long may those Northern Lights brighten the skies…

Don’t worry about blogging – take time out for yourself and your mother… my thoughts are with you.

Amazing! But since you were looking the other way at the vital moment…really Tom!!….it’s very unlikely that you would have actually seen it ☺ That said you obviously saw something. ..lol 😉

Well, I did after the event on the news, Icewolf.
I very often miss things by looking the other way!
