Well, that was another super-fast Saturday!
Shopping this morning was uneventful, apart from two events. The first one was my being approached by a very nice saleswoman trying to sell me a credit card. After my ramblings the other day about those nasty nuisances of telephone callers, I had to speak to a salesperson face-to-face. She was pleasant, and rather than my usual shuffling quickly forward and mumbling ‘no thanks, I’m in a hurry’, I found myself stopping and listening to what she had to say. She went on and on about the benefits of zero transfers this and twelve per cent that, and eventually when she asked me at the end if I was interested, I said that I wasn’t. I felt sorry for her, so said sorry, and said that she tried very well, but I wasn’t interested. Resigned, she allowed me to start my shop.
In the first aisle, I was glared at rather unpleasantly by another shopper who wasn’t exactly looking where she was going and nearly fell into my empty trolley. I selected my tomatoes, and smiled at her as I walked on by. Well, she had reminded me that I wasn’t exactly looking where I was going either!
I’d paid for my shopping and set the alarms off going out of the shop. Another woman was right behind me, so I sheepishly smiled (as you do) and asked if the alarm was her rather than me, but it was me. I walked back through and it went off again. The woman said that it kept on doing it, but I hadn’t heard it until I first walked through. However, outside the shop (after I had been told I was OK to walk through!) I could hear it sounding every minute or so. A young girl outside spotted me having this tiny bit of bother and said “You nearly managed to walk out with your shopping then!” I smiled at her too!
Smiling’s good you know!
Hospital visiting again today, and I parked my car in a two level car park – I parked in the underneath section as it was raining. Unfortunately, it had stopped raining outside, but the water was dripping through the ceiling in torrents. I was wetter than if I’d parked either outside or on the upper level, but it was a good idea at the time. It’s a good job that I enjoy the rain though, and it didn’t take me long to dry off in the warmth of the hospital ward.
And now… it’s chill time. Slow down time time. Take it easy time. Rest, relax and write time. I’m sure I’ll think of something to write about… soon.
