Pink Twilight: Eclipse

Oops.

I’ve completely forgotten about tonight’s Total Lunar Eclipse. I say forgotten; something seems to ring a bell about there being one, but the memory is buried under several other thoughts inside my head. I may have written about it in an earlier post, but I’ve forgotten that too.

There is another Total Lunar Eclipse in December this year, and I’ll add that to my calendar and diary so I won’t forget that one. Here’s hoping!

Luckily, we’ve had rain today, so the sky has been pretty much covered in cloud all day. This evening, the clouds were a dusty pink colour, but even that didn’t activate the dormant memory within me. I’ve just looked out of one of the windows in Aquatom Mansion, and could see the pink glow from the Moon behind one of the remaining trees. I couldn’t see the Moon itself, so once again I missed the effects of the Eclipse.

Twice now I’ve missed a recent astronomical event – first the Northern Lights from the Solar Flare and now this Eclipse. Something is keeping me away from seeing them… but there is always next time. Not to be despondent! total-lunar-eclipse

I’ve still got December to look forward to!

I’ve still seen tonight’s pink glow, a pink twilight…

And I’ve seen the Eclipse on today’s Google Doodle.

Small things are better than nothing at all…

True enough, Sir Aquatom, always next time, and seeing the pink glow is better than nothing at all. We can see so much on the internet, that it’s almost like being there., but not quite. To see it for yourself is a total 3D experience, … I wonder if, when you’re a spirit you can fly about the Universe, skate on Saturn’s Rings, slide through the Milky Way Galaxy , and abseil through a Black Hole. Sounds very tiring but worth the effort. … Rock on ’til December methinks. xPenx

I like the idea of skating on Saturn’s rings. I’m drawn to Saturn, Pen…
You’re right – th’internet’s good to see things we wouldn’t normally see, but even that isn’t the same as seeing it in person!
