Things that go bump in the day

The time: Friday 29th April 2011, 15:30 hours
The place: Parent’s living room
The people: My parents and I
The setting: Everyone sitting back, relaxing, doing general ‘doing nothing’ things, such as watching TV, doing crosswords, sipping lemonade, etcetera etcetera etcetera
The weather: Warm and sunny, with a slight breeze
Other factors: Although warm outside, refreshingly cool inside. So cool in fact, all external doors are closed, as are all windows. The door to the living room is also closed fully. The door to the living room is new. A heavy wooden door that doesn’t move on it’s own accord even when pushed.
The incident: 15.30. The living room door opened all by itself, off the catch, and moved two inches.
The reaction: Surprise, confusion, a few “Ay ups!”, a comment “That door does not move on it’s own…”, a nervous “hello” from Mum, and a “Tell ‘em to go back!” from Dad. Dad isn’t keen when Spudley the Cat visits, so I’m guessing he’s not that keen on visitors from another dimension either.

Later that day, a shadow was seen on the stairs, but nothing else.

Many years ago, when my brother and I lived at home, Mum was woken up early one morning, hearing my brother speaking to someone. His bedroom door was slightly ajar, and Mum got up to see if he was talking in his sleep. He wasn’t – he was wide awake, and watched as Mum walked through the figure he was talking to!

A figure was leaning around the door, his right hand holding the door just above his head, and his left hand holding the door just by his chest. He was wearing a flat cap, and a long coat. My brother couldn’t make out the facial features, and was asking who he was when he woke up Mum. As soon as Mum had passed through the figure, he had vanished.

ghostI saw a figure walk into the living room once, but only in the corner of my eye, and when I followed the figure in, there was nobody there.

And Dot visited me in my living room at Aquatom Mansion during the afternoon one day last year, to play with my music system.

All of these events happened during the day. So, it seems that things don’t necessarily need to go bump only during the night…

Love the spooky stuff but maybe someone needing to just say hi from the other side. Next time he should pre warn Mum to ignore his talking and invent an amazing story why… Thankd for commenting on my blog. M

Well, I did then (when my brother saw his ‘friend’), I don’t now! My parents still do hence we all noticed the door opening on Friday. They all seem to be very friendly visitors!

If they were friendly, they would have called first before dropping in.
