Fit to burst!

empty plateI think that if days were to have themes, the one for today, for me, would have to be food. I have eaten non-stop since lunchtime. I couldn’t say that I have eaten a lot (…), I certainly couldn’t say that I have eaten the healthiest of menus today, and I categorically couldn’t say that I will never eat ever again – but right at this moment in time I certainly could (but not the healthy option!).

I am so full, I can hardly breathe. I’m managing to do so, which is always a blessing in itself, but it is taking an extra effort. I can’t be bothered walking anywhere, so I am just blobbing around, like a useless lump right now. I am getting some things done, and I am typing this post, but without any energy.

I’ve been nibbling all afternoon. ‘Healthy’ oven roasted potato chips (the packets say), and I suppose they are healthy if you eat say a couple of the chips, or one bag at the most. I ate four. Packets, not crisps. In quick succession. Well, they were moreish. I always thought the ‘healthy’ varieties somehow lacked flavour, but these didn’t.

After my second pack, I ate three Carvery Ham and salad sandwiches – healthy in themselves, but not during four packets of crisps. Then, I ‘nibbled’ on a Hot cross Bun, followed by two slices of toasted Hot Cross Bun Loaf. After all of this indulgence, I drifted off to sleep. I use the term ‘drifted off’ in the vaguest sense possible – it was probably more like me zoning out immediately. I had a lovely sleep, and then woke up to eat a lovely hot dog and fried onions with Southern Fries. Followed by fresh strawberries, red grapes and vanilla ice cream.

After writing that, I feel as though I have eaten it all again.

Not only did I manage to fit all of that in, I did so on what was probably the hottest day of the year so far. I’m sure it was the heat that sent me to sleep earlier – it wasn’t as though I’d eaten a heavy meal or anything beforehand…

I must watch my food intake though. All the hard work that I put myself through last year when I swam all of those miles will be for nothing if I was to put the weight back on. And besides, I will be starting back swimming soon, so I may as well go (for one year at least) looking as though I don’t really need to go. I usually only go when I need to lose weight – this year will be the first of many exceptions to the rule! Honest!

I’ve just heard some rumbling outside. I can’t say it was a ‘rumble in the jungle’ since the majority of the trees mysteriously vanished last year, so it can only be one thing. Thunder!

April showers are on their way – forecast for tomorrow in fact, and they will probably bring some thunder and lightning with them. I love a good thunderstorm! Only time will tell…

All in all, a great day. Not very productive. Not very stimulating. Not very creative. But relaxing, warm and enjoyable. Just as Sundays should be. Yes I feel full, but I also feel good. I’m grateful for any opportunity to feel good, so no complaints here.

Oooooh, really? That sounds just like my holidays! I’m going swimming tonight, also going to the cinema!
I love thunderstorms, but my rabbit doesn’t. She’s going to need a really long cuddle to get through this…

I think the thunder’s gone away again, for now. It did feel like a holiday yesterday. It doesn’t feel like that today, though… back to work feelings and all that!

Food picking days are great, I love ’em when I get the chance. I like nothing better than a bowl of cornflakes, ice cold milk and maybe some fresh fruit, I could eat that three times a day every day 😀
Hotdogs and fries………I’ll be back later 😉
