Proving that there is more to this story, and that I am still around but taking a little blogging break, this post for Six Sentence Stories is another out-take from Clark and my epic serial ‘…of Heroes and the Misunderstood.’ Denise’s prompt word this week is Move.
This is set in a familiar… well, you’ll have to read it to see where it’s set. This particular chapter was written way back at the beginning of our adventure, when the character Isla Sora was initially named Bethany. Clark’s characters Rue DeNite, Rocco, and Lou appear, as well as Moonbeam and a few other familiar characters.

‘What’ll it be, folks…’ the Bartender placed four folded napkins on the bar top in front of Rue DeNite, Rocco, Bethany and Moonbeam, as the other customers in the packed bistro seemed to move, as if by magic, out of their way as they approached, ‘everything’s on offer tonight, seventy-five per cent off!’
Rue looked around the room in awe, ‘I’ve been to one of these places before,’ she pondered, ‘the people look the same… the bearded man on the door… the woman on the bar… that woman over there in the booth… that tall man walking down the corridor… only the stage is in a different place.’
‘No,’ Moonbeam replied, ‘the stage is in the normal place, it’s the bar that’s different, and those double doors are normally down the other end.’
‘That’s not right,’ Bethany said, everything seems to have flipped sides… but the people do look the same.’
Bethany was about to sit on a stool at the bar when Rue stopped her, ‘don’t sit there… that’s where Lou usually sits when he vis…’ she didn’t finish her sentence as she looked at the three equally confused people looking back at her.
Rocco finally spoke, ‘whatever Twilight Zone we’ve walked into now, I’d guess we’re a million miles away from Kansas… although we are in England, so that’s almost true…’; they all looked back at the smiling Bartender who’d placed four full glasses of a deep purple liquid in front of them, ‘house speciality, my treat, it looks like you all may need it.’
