The Northern Lights

We have had some rather exciting celestial activity here in England, and the UK, over the past couple of days.

I’m not referring to the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place last week, and had some activity all of its own, but it didn’t spoil the enjoyment any. I digress.

The Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis, made themselves visible on Friday and Saturday nights.

As is usual with any celestial event, I missed it. However, here are some images of the Mansion beneath them.

And as you can see, the Mansion changed its appearance in time with the swirling wonderfulness of the Aurora.

Apparently, they were even better if viewed through a camera/phone. Someone I work with said that would’ve been just like looking at a photo of them, however. It kind of makes sense…! I didn’t see them myself either!

I’ve just seen that we should be seeing them again over the next two weeks… we’re going through another massive CME! 🙂

              I probably will Sue.
Actually, thinking about it, I’ll probably be under them and still not see them!

They are impressive, Chris, although I wish I’d seen them personally! 🙂
