Haunted

Wary is the soul 
Very cold indeed 
Clock strikes thirteen 
Mocking laughter sounds 
Things bump in the night 
Bring on the nerves 
Eyes stare blankly 
My heart pounds
Til the morning comes
Chilled to the bone 
Very cold indeed

    An appropriate October poem, Tom! 🙂 At first I thought the poem read “Mary is the soul,” which made me think the female figure in the poem was a ghost. The second verse, “Very cold indeed” at first confirmed my ghost speculation. I often think of ghosts as being physically very cold, and that’s indeed how she looked to me! The male figure looked rather cold too. So a pair of ghosts. But the setting looked like it could be warm, which only reinforced my idea that they were (stubbornly cold) ghosts in a warm setting! XD

      Ghosts have a different temperature to their surroundings, CM. Well, the ones I’ve met have. They can feel warm too…
      The pair were intended to be ghosts, so you read them well! 🙂 (I don’t think the female figure is Mary, though! 😉)

          Yes… if you were in a REALLY cold room, they’d have to feel warm/hot to let you know they’re there! It’s all in the energy! ✨️🙂

    I give you a 10+ on this one, Tom! It was so well crafted I didn’t at first recognize it as a Pioneer. Sometimes the Pioneers turn out silly. This flows nicely!
