Firstly, this is a post for Six Word Saturday. The rules for Six Word Saturday are that the title must contain six words. If the title contains two of the same word, does this mean there are only five in the title? And does an apostrophe count the word as one word or two? Either way, I’ve covered all bases in this post!
And as the title says, it’s my birthday this weekend. I’m officially another year older, although as I stopped counting at 24, I haven’t aged a bit.
The Heart of the Matter
As we all know, the world is in a bit of a mess at the moment. Probably the worst kind of mess it’s been in for some time, and that’s saying something! I try my best not to focus on the mess of the world here on this blog, and on any of my blogs for that matter, and instead offer an escape… although at times, there comes a need just to try to put a little push on how things should be.
As an influencer with two* followers, all I can do is transmit my messages of hope and positivity and calm, through the blogging platform, and out into the wider world. One thought leads to another, gets passed on by another, and before you know it, the number of people looking at hope, positivity and calm doubles… and before we know it even trebles!
That’s my idea. That was my idea for this blog when I started it back in better days, during the dark ages. And it remains my idea with every post I write – even the daft ones.
The world needs daft to balance out the seriousness. If I wanted seriousness, I wouldn’t need to blog, and just look at what’s happening in the real world. No, I need to escape, live in the confines of my Mansion, pushing out (hopefully) smiles and laughter and (less hopefully but more likely) groans, tuts and eye-rolls.
Living in Fantasy
I read something once that said we just need to be aware of what’s going on in the world, and not be consumed by it. Probably easier said than done for those going through a dark period, but the whole world is still going through a dark period with that pesky virus hanging around like a sore thumb.
I can’t carry the burden of the world around with me. So, I shut it off. When the Mansion door creaks shut behind me, the real world is out there… and my world is in here.
My creations come alive; however abstract they may be. My interpretations become folded and warped, so I have to look for a different way to view things. I have ideas for stories popping into my head when they shouldn’t really be there, and I have to scribble them down there and then, just to stop me becoming overwhelmed in fantasy as well.
It’s one thing being consumed by the harsh realities of life, and a totally different one to be consumed by the goings on in one’s head!
So it all comes down to balance. And for me, reality is out there, and daftness, or as I prefer to call it, Surreal Reality, is in here.
But that doesn’t mean that I can’t do my bit by trying to send out goodness, hope, positivity and calm every now and then.
Birthday Greetings
I’ll ‘age’ another year tomorrow. Being Piscean in the Age of Pisces helps with the split between reality and Surreal Reality, and it allows me to dream freely, although in a wishy washy way. We are due to go into the Age of Aquarius sometime in the 26th Century, although some folk think we launched ourselves into it in 2012.
Things started changing for me in 2012, so maybe I’m one of those who’ve moved forward into the New Age… or maybe I’m stuck on the cusp, straddling the two Ages, trying to move forward yet also being constantly held back.
That makes sense, being Piscean. The symbol is two fish swimming in opposite directions, yet also intertwined and interconnected to each other.
*Two Followers
In numerology, Psychic Number 2 represents togetherness and harmony, which is what I hope to give out to all of those who follow my blog (you don’t really think I actually have two followers, do you?)
My Psychic Number is 4, by the way, as I was born on the thirteenth (3+1=4!), and the characteristics of this number include secrecy, mystical and out of the box thinking. I may or may not fall into those categories… that would be telling! 4 has always been my favourite number (and incidentally D my favourite letter, but I’m not going there!)
And 4 is 2 doubled, so to me, that’s twice the togetherness and harmony… like I said earlier, it’s all about balance.

So, in short, it’s my birthday weekend. I’ve created an image to try to spread out goodness to all. The image is a variation of the one first posted on my other blog Splodge and Splatter, which is even more surreal than this one here.
