Queuing at a distance
Snaking round the line
Social distance measured
Slowly passes time
Up and down the aisles
Checking list page one and two
Trolley overloaded
Luckily there’s no queue
Items separated
Shop A shop B shop C
This modern age of shopping
Can be trickier for three
Finally things are sorted
All paid for, bagged and set
Time to head for home now
No S bend, better yet!
Shopping day today, and I do a shop for myself and two others every week and a half in this current climate. Whereas in the past I’d just nip to the superstore as and when required, it’s best not to do that lately. Best to try to avoid folk at all costs, which is OK when I do it, but others seem to be less bothered and invade personal space (which currently is a lot larger than before!) without a second thought. Sigh. Still, at least I try.
The S Bend in this little rhyme relates to the queue to get INTO the shop as it snakes around back onto itself four times before reaching the door. All orderly and calm. Patience is a virtue. We have to stay safe and keep others safe as well. Most people agree.
