There was an old man named Santa
Who lost an expensive hamper
He searched high and low
Found it buried in snow
Intact but decidedly damper
There was a young reindeer named Rudolph
Whose bright nose made him somewhat a show off
The others did mock
However Rudy did shock
When he challenged them all to a glow off
These limericks at Christmas are tricky
You have to be careful and picky
With one single wrong word
You look like a turkey
Open to ridicule and folk taking the mickey

With Christmas-type limericks, Tom,
Went writing them off like a bomb,
But nobody praised them
And so he erased them
And went, crying, home to his Mom.

Tom read Col’s comment and cried,
Feeling sore and dejected inside
But then he cheered up
And held aloft his cup
Col’s next comment being a prize!

writing as fast as he can
to keep up the pace
so time did not waste

Raili’s comment made Tom think
About time, and how he could chink
A piece here and there
To use anywhere
When out of it was reached on the brink
Sorry, Raili… I tried…
