I’ve been around the Lake again this week, taking the odd photo or two. I was there last week, doing the same thing in sub-zero temperatures. The things I do for this blog!!!
As I said, it was c-h-i-l-l-y! The water was frozen solid at one end, although I wasn’t going to be the one to test how solid.
My friends the ducks weren’t particularly perturbed by the tiniest layer of snow that covered some parts.
Even through the bitterest of winds, the signs of Spring are beginning to appear.
The Coldest end of the Lake. Half-frozen, half not. If you look closer (centre top) you will see the sensible ducks paddling around in the unfrozen parts! The gulls too, for that matter, although they are at one o’clock!
And now, the gulls and ducks are together!
Brrrrr!
Yet a few days later, it is completely different again. Clear, free-flowing waters.
And finally, the picture with everything in it! Light and dark. Reflection and reality (what’s the opposite of a reflection called – the ‘real’ thing? I can’t think!). Clear blue skies and white fluffy clouds. Reds and greens. Shadow and light. Colours and greys. Land and water. And me and not me! That hulking shadow there is me, but it is only my shadow, so it isn’t me! We do like to ponder some odd things here Beyond the Sphere!
