1. Unlikely? I’d say so!

Eerily, the Grinds fell silent early. At dusk, those who’d gathered for the Gathering, got up and left to gather elsewhere.

The onset of darkness was diminished somewhat by the sudden appearance of a bright, large Full Moon. A Full Moon never the less obscured by wispy clouds on an unusually warm October’s evening. Around here, anything is possible.

Welcome to the Grinds… welcome to the Mansion… and welcome to Halloween.

I apologise for the cobwebs. I’d love to say that they have been brought in with the other Halloween decorations that you see around here… but, truth be told, those aren’t decorations. Those webs are real… as are the spiders that have spun them. So the staff tell me… when I see them. I’ve been a little busy of late, otherwise I’d have swept some of the cobwebs away, but for now, they’ll have to add to the atmosphere.

The Grand Clock up on the Landing is chiming merrily away to itself. How it keeps track of the hours after the little hand mysteriously disappeared is beyond me (and please no jokes about Thing Addams… the clock gets very upset and starts to chime thirteen!) Even the timepieces are moody around here.

I’m expecting some visitors to call by this evening, although I have a feeling they may not exactly be expecting to visit here themselves. When they arrive, they need to report directly to the Sitting Room, where the mysterious Cloaked Figure is waiting to ask them a question or two. They have one requirement – as the Cloaked Figure can not reveal who I they are, the visitors must also not reveal who they are either, otherwise they’ll invoke the Curse of the Thirteenth Hour…

Until midnight, there will be one post an hour. Unless someone slips up, and we need another post for the Thirteenth Hour. Ulp.

Yes, I do tend to go overboard a little with regards to Halloween, LA. Maybe next year I’ll trim things back a little.

Your clocks are unlikely to run to anything resembling normal time at the best of time! Must be a nightmare trying to get things done on time in the Mansion 😉 The thirteenth hour is always rather strange…even in Mansion terms…I mean it doesn’t actually officially exist does it? So whatever happens at that time must be slightly illusional…or not! In the case of the Mansion and the Grinds anything and everything is possible and with a certain cloaked figure in the sitting room it doesn’t entirely bode well!

Really depends who the cloaked figure is as well, Icewolf. But you’re right about things not running on time around here. All the clocks are different anyway, which doesn’t help! The one in my car is currently two hours ten minutes behind… I have no clue as to the exact time, so just run on averages!
