The Face by the House on the Hill. Part Two.

Earlier today, I posted an image that I was going to use as a setting for a ghost story, but all ideas for the story went out of the window when I noticed a ghostly face peering out from the lower centre of the picture.

I’d tweaked the colours on the image, and removed a telegraph pole on the right and a blotch from the sky, but I made no changes to the rest of the picture itself.

The original is quite blurred, but here it is:

After I miraculously turned day into night, I noticed the face I mentioned earlier.

This next image highlights where I’m looking, with the face directly next to a question mark:

The next one highlights the face:

And this is a close-up of the face from the blurred original (you may need to allow your vision to go slightly out of focus to see it, but if not please do not strain your eyes!):

I can see the face clearly in every image now that I’m aware of it, but not everyone sees the same thing! I hope now that I’ve pointed it out, it is slightly clearer if you couldn’t see it earlier.

As usual, I’m probably looking too deeply into the shadows, but this has given me a couple of Halloween-linked posts that I wasn’t planning on creating.

When inspiration strikes, we must act! That is the creation process at work!

Hmm . . now in the last image I see another face, just to the left of the first face. The two faces share an eye. You could say a two-faced entity, yet a shared vision. Hmm . .

Yes, I can see that second face now, CM – it’s part of what I said looked like the question mark… is it me, or do the two faces look similar???
The one on the left appears more raised from the ground.

Funny, I would say they look dissimilar, especially considering the face on the left has a prominent nose.

One’s embossed and the other one is… erm… not embossed, but they’re definitely one and the same to me.
It’s odd just how differently we see things… especially when what we are seeing isn’t actually there!!!

Hmm. I am now cross-eyed and don’t see what I originally thought I saw either. You must have special sight, Tom.

      Ah. Apologies for that, Tess.
A kind of special sight, I would say. Not exactly a useful one, I must add…

But it does see wondrous thing we other lowly mortals seem to miss…

Saw it almost straight away in the top photo. It looks like a face poking out of the ground?

Elaine, I think the one that’s poking out of the ground is the second face that CM mentioned earlier… the one I originally spotted is immediately beside it, but it seems to be fading into the background. Very odd…

I still keep seeing ‘my’ face easily, but have finally seen yours!

I see it! To me the eyes look green and from the mouth down it’s sort of white with a green upper lip.

The upper lip is quite prominent, Deb, but I can’t see any colours myself.

Oh Tom! I’m doing catch up and started as usual from the latest post..so I haven’t see the post before this one. Before reading the full post, I clicked on the first image…where you mention there is a face at the lower center? Well…in the enlarged picture I *did* see a face! Well…half a face..The eyes and nose were there..and it looked like a pretty lady..but not where you pointed out!

The one I saw was on the left side of the picture, just across from the one you saw! LOL!
And now that I’m re looking at the picture…I see THREE faces..hahahaha.

      Three faces???
I’ll have to have another look myself now, Shree. I could only see the one, and then two. Maybe they’re multiplying. Well, they must be, considering we’re seeing more and more!

Number 1 : The one you saw, facing “front” or towards the sky
Number 2: Is what I saw..it’s “flatter” and across from the one you saw..it’s half a face though..I see eyes and part of the nose only, but looks like a lady
Number 3: Where you see face 1, there seems to be another one, like an old lady…looking “inside”…

        Those are the three 😀

Ah 🙂 I was viewing it horizontally rather than vertically…what a big nose it has! Doesn’t look very human to me…quite ghoulish in fact! Maybe it really is as I suggested on your previous post 😉

      No. No no.
It’s a human face. And a pleasant human at that, Icewolf.
I can’t look at the picture any more in case my perception of it changes… 😯
