In a strange and random turn of events, today’s post is a little break away from the other Halloween postings that have been going on around here.
Although a little break away, it isn’t a complete break away, and I shall explain more on this in a short while.
Now, why this little break away? I hear you ask. I shall tell you. I hear myself say.
Today’s post, if you hadn’t already gathered from the little screenshot from my dashboard up there, is my one thousandth post. One Thousand! A THOUSAND! 1,000!!! (The screenshot is from yesterday, when I had clocked up a mere 999 posts, in case you thought I’d grabbed the wrong screenshot. If it had said 1,000, that would have made this post my 1,001st post, and that isn’t due until tomorrow, so would have been incorrect.)
Although this post is officially my thousandth post, it could, in all possibility, actually be more, considering I had to delete some of my earlier drivel posts when I first started this blog back in May 2010 (as an experiment that I expected to last a week, reaching, possibly five posts.) Although it may even be less than a thousand, considering I have re-blogged some of my earlier posts that were less drivelly, and therefore shouldn’t really be counted as a new post, although, then again, I did tweak them into new posts, so in essence they were newish.
So anyway, WordPress counts a thousand with this post, so a thousand it is!
Now… what’s the connection to Halloween? I hear you ask. I shall tell you, I say.
Tomorrow, October 18th is the day of the Full Moon. Spooky or what? Well, actually, not so. We have a Full Moon every month, and there was bound to be one in October, also, strange but true, when Halloween occurs. The Full Moon in October is the Hunter’s Moon, or the Blood Moon. Now we’re talking.

Werewolves are most active around the time of the Full Moon, unless you’re around here, when they are active virtually every day. The same with vampires. They go into a frenzy on the night of the Blood Moon, which is tomorrow (in case I didn’t say!), so there’ll probably be a vampire post on its way quite soon.
However, the Blood Moon wasn’t named so because of the werewolves and vampires; it was so named after all of the colours of the season, Autumn / Fall etcetera, oh, and the fact that the hunting season begins – which gives the Moon its other name.
No, the Moon itself isn’t spooky, but the timing of my official thousandth post and the date of the Blood Moon is. The Full Moon is powerful in Magical terms, at any time of the year, and hopefully this one will give me a Magical push forward well into my next thousand or so posts, and my book that I’m still in the process of starting to write. It can not only be coincidence that my thousandth post falls on the very day before the day of the Blood Moon, given my draw to vampires (and all things Halloween)
It can’t be coincidence that my 1001st post, the first in my next thousand, will be published on the day of the Blood Moon. No, even a day early is too coincidental to be coincidental. But it’s happened.
Anyway, all of this talk of Moons, werewolves and coincidences aside, I’d just like to thank everyone who has been part of my mad journey through Blogland since I started. I hope you can stick around, for I promise the madness will get better. Possibly madder, but hey ho. I look forward to reading as many of your posts as I can during my next one thousand attempts, and I promise to try to get better with my comments (both replying and making them!)
When I first started blogging I didn’t have a clue I’d still be doing it now. The interaction with other bloggers makes it all worthwhile, and that’s one of the reasons why I still do it. I also like to do something a little different, wacky, and out there on occasion, but we have too much real world in the real world – it’s good for an escape every now and then, I find.
Also when I first started, I had 32 visitors in the first month. The more things change, the more they stay the same. No, I’m only joking! I’m pleased that my visitor numbers have increased since then, and lots of people return again and again. Hello again! By the way!
So. This is it.
My THOUSANDTH post.
Woohoo.
I shall return to proper Halloween stuff tomorrow, in my 1001st post. When I say proper, I mean mine, but you know what I mean. Unless you’re new here, and you won’t, but you’ve the choice of a thousand posts now to find out!
Speaking of Halloween, I have an important announcement to make.
I hope you will be able to join me on Halloween, live – or in real time (depending where on this wonderful planet of ours you are), as I explore the part of the Mansion that appeared, randomly, last month out in the Grinds. I shall be giving regular updates throughout the evening, in real time, on October 31st from 5pm UK time, as I explore. I have no clue what will happen, and there may be several posts of drivel on the evening, but hopefully not. We shall see.
And just because this is my thousandth post, I do not need to fill it with a thousand words, although I’ve given it a really good shot. 956 now and counting, but, I must also end the post on a high.
How could I possibly end a landmark post in a positive, yet familiar way? There’s only one way… and that’s FEEL GOOD now and always.
And that’s a thousand done!
