Time travelling in the fast lane

I’m sure that when I blink, two hours pass.

Fast laneI took two and a half days holiday from work this week, which meant that I finished work on Wednesday lunchtime, and I would have four and a half days off before returning to work. A nice little break, I thought, to have a rest, recharge my batteries, and then be ready for the new week. Even though I have had a rest, I feel it is too early to have to start thinking about returning to work just yet. And yes, I am aware that I have one more day before going back to work, but I don’t know where the other days have gone!

I remember thinking of all the nice, relaxing things I was going to do from Wednesday afternoon. Some I have done, but not all. I ran out of time. Even with my excellent planning skills, I ran out of time. Which highlights how excellent my planning skills really are!

This lack of time has made me think of the next time I will be able to have a nice little rest, the next holiday from work. I have booked a week off in four weeks time, which is the first week in August. August! It only feels like last week when I was writing for this blog in January. When we reach August, I know that I’ll be thinking that we are nearly in the ‘Ber’ months (SeptemBER, OctoBER etc.), when the days are getting shorter, and there will seem to be even less time to get things done. In daylight, anyway. Then, it will be Christmas, New Year, and January once again.

Time seems to be running away with me / from me, and I’m hanging on by my fingertips. No! By my fingerNAILS. Yes, I’m enjoying the ride, but I’d like it even more if it would just slow down slightly. Even a little more than slightly. Just enough so that I can see the view from my window, rather than looking at everything through the blur, and having to think back to whether I actually saw what I saw or thought I saw what I saw…

I suppose it is better than time standing still, though. time on hand

I remember those long, boring days from my school holidays of yesteryear, where the hours seemed like a day in themselves…

Oh, for those long, boring holiday days once again! Time can go as fast as it wants to when I’m in work; it doesn’t matter if I run out of time there.

But my time is my time, and I would really like to make more of it! Doing more of what I like helps me to feel good. And I love to feel good at any time…

Blinking heck Sir Aquatom, stop blinking so much. and so it comes to pass, time has speeded up, and spare time goes past like a blur… I have seen this for myself, and was looking into the situation, but apparently I haven’t enough time, catch 22… Ah well, maybe we can streeeeeetch time? Like an elastic band, BUT what if it suddenly snapped? … Bazookas!!…(that was to appease spellchecker) 😉 xPenx
