The evening air starts to cool down after quite a warm day. Not the warmest, but quite warm just the same.
The trees are still, indicating only the slightest of breezes.
The occasional shrill chirp can be heard from a hastily flying bird, dashing home to it’s nest to get settled for the night ahead.
Children return home, after noisily playing football, or drums, or whatever else they find themselves doing in the early evening.
The sun can no longer be seen in the sky, the final brilliant reds and oranges faded over the horizon a short while ago.
The sky is still. A cool, palish blue; almost white across the horizon, but almost blue on high. As the seconds creep by, the blue gradually becomes deeper and deeper.
More chirping birds. An owl? A pigeon.
The silence of night is descending quickly. Shadows are growing. The darkness is closing in, although it is still strangely light. Too bright for stars, too light for night, yet too late for day.The evening twilight is gently settling in.
It is time to rest. Time to recharge. Time to think, and time to dream.
Time to prepare for the day ahead. The great day ahead. The day for New Beginnings.
