Now that the decorators have left, it is time for things to start to get back to normal.
With many thanks to Laura over at Unlikely Explanations, I am now able to get back to the serious business of writing up something to add to the Previous Post section below, and the posts will be displayed there! It’s easy when you know how!
I always write about feeling good. If I don’t actually add the words into the post I have written, the intention of feeling good is always behind what I write. Even if I’m letting off a little bit of steam about some trivial matter that seemed to have taken over my thoughts just before settling down to write, I’m writing because I want to feel good.
What we think about we bring about. What we feel we experience more of. I don’t want more of the ‘not so good’ stuff, so I focus on the good things. The nice things. the things that I like.
Today has been a pretty amazing day, all things considered. The weather has been glorious. Brilliant sunshine and temperatures that just a couple of weeks (dare I say even a couple of days?) ago seemed to be dreams of a not too distant future. Well, that future is here now! How long it will last, we don’t know. Well, I don’t anyway. The majority of the people around my home town have been making the most of it, and the lovely smell of burning sausages filled the air this evening. The smells actually started filling the air at lunchtime today, with some people having ‘all-day barbecues’ – I bet they must be full to overflowing right now… I, myself, was having a more chilled kind of day today.
A slight bit of shopping (not at my usual supermarket – the store I went to today don’t seem to mind if you have bad hair, which I didn’t, but it was warm, so others unfortunate to have severe flicks can be forgiven – I think they were all dashing to buy their things for their barbecues to be worried about their hair anyway.) I bought some fabulous vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and sweet red grapes. You can’t really have a nice warm day without ice cream.
The rest of the day I spent chilling. Lounging around. Doing nothing. I love weekends for this reason. I’ve heard that some people do DIY at the weekend. This is a thought that makes me shudder. Working – at the weekend – after working all week? I must admit I do some jobs that need to be done, but only on the rarest of occasions. I think I’ve mentioned in the past that my DIY skills are unique, and go by the name DIA (Do It Again) – so if I need to do something, I know that I’ll have to do it twice (at least) so it can hang on for a while! This isn’t being lazy – oh, no… it is being practical. I’m full of practical ideas like that!
Having said that, being lazy makes up part of my weekend. You can’t get into the correct relaxation position when you have something to do, so having nothing to do means I am able to lie back and let the day do as it pleases. I can drift off to sleep as many times as I need to. I’m very often woken from these stolen moments by someone shouting outside, or someone mowing their lawn with a noisy mower, or even the smell of another burning sausage. I treat these little ‘disturbances’ as reminders to how great my sleeping is, and what a fantastic chilled time I am having. And occasionally I find myself dreaming. Dreaming in the middle of the afternoon is another experience that I enjoy, although my dreams tend to be a little odd in the daytime.
So, all in all, a perfectly relaxed day. I’ve got a little more ‘work’ to do on my blog, but this is a work in motion anyway, so things will change over time as and when needed. I’m going to finish the day now with a couple of sandwiches, and more resting. After all, I have to have a similar relaxing day tomorrow. Sundays are meant for that!
I do like feeling good…
