Pleasant dreams…

My post last night seemed to work for me. I didn’t have a disturbed night’s sleep, or if I did, I didn’t notice it. I woke a few minutes before my alarm this morning, and there my tale ends.

Let me start at the beginning, as most tales generally do!

After adding my post yesterday, I was very sleepy, and went to bed. It wasn’t very long before I was giving out as many zeds as my floppy people in my well picture. I presume I was giving zeds, but it could easily have been squeaks, snores, coughs, grunts or any other noise associated with sleep. I was well away and was oblivious to any noise I was making.

I literally was well away. Somewhere in Dreamworld, to be precise.

Dreamworld is very similar to my normal dimension, only things happen in a different kind of way. I wasn’t aware I was dreaming, so it wasn’t lucid. Everything was clearly defined, so it wasn’t caused by eating cheese. My cheese dreams tend to be a little ‘blurry’ for some reason. My cheese dreams also tend to be random, and as I ate a pizza several hours before going to sleep I did have cheese in me. There was an element of randomness in the dream, but there were also some clear feelings – strong feelings – associated with the dream too.

OK. The dream. I was in work, in one of my old jobs. There were several of my old colleagues in the dream, some who I currently work with, and some completely random people who I have never seen before in my life. For a while, the company I was working for had been running a challenge for employees to try to get through to a room above the ceiling, through a sort of skylight. Just above the skylight, there was a window and a couple of panels, and the object of the challenge was to make it through to the room within a certain period of time. The reward for getting through was £100,000.00. Well, up to £100,000.00. Whoever was taking on the challenge could ask a colleague to help them to get so far through the skylight, and, if successful, this colleague could win up to £50,000.00. This prize could be deducted from the £100,000.00, or it could be in addition to it. Nobody knew exactly what would be won until the challenge was done. The person selected to take on the challenge had to meet certain criteria with regards to work, targets, etcetera (I don’t know what this criteria was), and I met the criteria! I was selected!

Here is the randomness. When my challenge began, I decided I would ask one of my colleagues to help me. All of my other colleagues were standing or sitting around watching, cheering me on. My colleague brought out an ironing board, and we both placed it underneath the skylight – or so we both thought. The skylight had actually moved to another part of the ceiling – this was perfectly normal, it was part of the challenge – so we had to move the ironing board to the new location. All this moving around was eating into the time that was available. We could use any means to get up to the skylight, but why we chose the ironing board rather than a stepladder is beyond me… however, I climbed on top of the ironing board.

It took a while to get my balance, I was very wobbly to start off with. I reached up to the skylight, and slid the cover over to one side. I could pull myself up until my elbows were on both sides to support me, and I looked around. In front of me was a window, and around the other three sides were panels. I wasn’t allowed to smash the glass for health and safety reasons (they didn’t seem to mind climbing on ironing boards though), so I tried to open the window. It wouldn’t budge. I tried pushing it, pulling it, and nothing. I was aware that time was now getting short, and I realised that the window was not the way in. I had to try a different tactic. I tried to pull myself up a little higher, and as I did so, I touched one of the sides. A piece of paneling came away in my hand. I could slide another piece to the left, and could push a third piece back. I was through! I quickly pulled myself up with all my might now. I didn’t want to fail at the last second as I was so close. I had to squeeze myself through this opening, but I made it! I was completely through when a klaxon sounded, advising the challenge was over.

I stood in disbelief. I was in a largish room, that was empty. My colleague who had helped me was looking up at me through the skylight. I heard her say “He’s through!” and all of the other colleagues were cheering, clapping and whistling. Apparently, I was the first one to do this for a while, which is why the prize was so high – it increased by a certain amount each time somebody else failed to get through. What made it so difficult was the fact that the skylight kept moving around, and the way through was different every time. It was just lucky that I had managed to find the way in the way that I had.

A few minutes later, I rejoined my colleague on the office floor. We were both anxiously waiting to hear what we had won. A telephone rang, and one of the other colleagues answered it. He said that my colleague had won £50,000.00, the full amount that was available for their part in the challenge. She was jumping for joy! I was too, actually, as I was convinced that I had won the same – but I hadn’t. I’d won the full £100,000.00! We’d both been awarded the full amounts available!

I was thinking of all the things that I needed to, and could, sort out. I was planning what other things to do with some of the money. I was feeling as though a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I felt good, in a relieved way, and I felt a great sense of achievement for actually getting myself to that next level. I turned around to say something to my colleague, and that is when I woke up.

I realised it had been a dream.

OK. I haven’t got the £100,000.00 yet. I know how it feels to have it now, so that’s a good feeling to experience. I read somewhere that dreams involving money don’t really mean anything unless very large sums of money are involved. Well, I’d say that was a very large sum of money… we’ll see.

I’m happy as I am now. I have everything I need right at this moment, but at times feel as though if I could just do something else I would feel better. Money isn’t everything. It can come and go, and I can feel just as good without it, as I can with it.

But I did like the feeling when I had it!

I’m now getting the feeling that it is time for me to make some of my dreams a reality…

Wishing the very best for you in making your dreams a reality….
It makes perfect sense that you now know what it feels like to own £100,000 from a dream. I’ve never thought about it like that before. Thank you!
