The Seven of Familiars

They say seven is a lucky number, which is true, if you are into numerology. Pair that with it being a favourite number and it is all the more fortuitous. This card is no different.

The card features six cats, which is unusual for a seven card… but that brings in the intrigue and mystery. Is the woman the seventh cat? Is the missing cat just out of sight? Is the woman commanding the cats or are they with her because they want to be?

They’re familiars. So they are free to come and go, or stay, as they so wish.

The card asks many questions.

Is someone being secretive?

Do you need to unleash you inner power?

Are you being told to step into the shadows?

Do you need to stand out in the crowd?

The blue signifies communication.

I am sensing that something should be said, and beware of hidden messages that you may catch, from an indirect source.

Perhaps you see something different in the card.

    I would say yes, the woman is the seventh familiar. She is actually a feline in human form Or perhaps the six purported cats are actually humans in feline form. The cats are rather large in proportion to the woman. Or perhaps the woman is rather small when compared to the cats. Her expression is a focused glare, semantically complimenting the glaring (collective noun instead of verb) of cats. Her (from the woman’s perspective) right hand is poised beneath a cat’s chin, ready to stroke its fur when the cat give the cue. Her left hand cradles some cat treats. Her legs are slightly askew, in case a cat wishes to retreat to the tent of her dress. So it may seem straightforward.

    But what of the bright dot on the column? Is someone trying to distract the cats with a laser pointer? Maybe that’s they the woman is glaring. How dare an interloper disrupt her feline court! And the white shape that seems to hover between the tails of two cats. Speaking of which, a couple cat tails don’t quite line up with the cats. The white shape is a sign pointing out this inconsistency. So this must be an important inconsistency!

    Then the circle opposite the “7” at the top. What is contained within this circle? Only a cat would be familiar…
