Many years ago, a tapestry depicting life around the Mansion was created. Some of the parts of the tapestry are threadbare, others motheaten, and others are so wafer thin the only thing visible is the light through it.
This is an occasional series chronicling the steps made to restore The Mansionic Tapestry back to its former Medieval glory.
The first part to be restored is ‘Market Day’

Life was a lot more hectic around the Mansion back then, in Medieval times. The above photograph, taken one Medieval June morning, shows the Mansion front door archway just left of centre. The Mansion itself looking totally alien, compared to how it presently looks.
The Grinds appear to have been home to some kind of cathedral back then, and just under that central archway, you can see queues of people waiting to get into the marketplace. Some of the stalls are just about visible over to the right. If you look carefully, you can see a Medieval shopping trolley bottom centre. They were more like sturdy Hessian sacks, without wheels, which were dragged around.
