It’s not that I lie about my age. It’s only a number after all, and I was 24 once. I just got stuck there, that’s all. So, I’m not making it up.
Yes, I’m 24 again today. I was born umpteen years ago whilst Sonny and Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’ was playing on the wireless in the background. Not that I remember that, obviously.
It was a Wednesday, my birthday – under the sign of Pisces where it has remained ever since. Apparently, Wednesday children are full of woe. Emotionally emphatic, we feel the weight of the world, with a caring and compassionate outlook. I think that description sounds better than ‘woe’. Oh, woe is me!!!
The world is a completely different place to when I was 24 last time. Today we are facing a global epidemic I don’t think any of us have seen before. News stories are bombarding us with it, so it’s hard to escape and get caught up within the sense of dread and negativity. They are hard-hitting us with numbers of total cases from day one, not appearing to mention the number of recoveries there have been. I myself concentrate on the recoveries, not the total number or even the outstanding cases. It’s how I can handle things without needing to dive under a duvet and stay there for the next three years. Things need to be balanced in my world, and if it doesn’t seem right my mind automatically starts to wonder. And wander. Oh, woe is me!
I’m sending healing and calming thoughts out into the world – the power of thought is a strong one indeed; we need to believe that things will be better soon, so that we can see things getting better soon. I also used Ho’oponopono yesterday, for 30 minutes, focussing on the cleansing of the virus. 30 minutes isn’t much for a lone soul in a huge world, but it’s something.
But the power of thought by itself isn’t enough this time. Medical assistance may be needed on occasion, and following advice to prevent the spread further is paramount. By giving a little more thought to what we are doing, such as by washing our hands more, we will see things start to improve.
And we have to believe that.
