Well, not quite yet…
Glorious weather today though. Not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was 4 degrees. The sun was shining, and everywhere was bright. It reminded me of summer, which is a very refreshing change from all of the random weather systems we have recently experienced. The temperature didn’t remind me of summer, I hasten to add, just the brightness. The day seemed to stay lighter longer too. Yesterday, we had more snow in the morning, which had settled, although not as heavily as a few weeks ago. By the afternoon, the settled snow started to thaw, but due to the cloud cover it seemed to go dark quite early. And by last night the snow had cleared completely.
I’m trying to think back to a time when we have experienced weather on such a changeable scale such as this, and I can honestly say that I can’t remember one. Yes, we have had the weather change due to the cycles of the seasons, but it was always gradual. We never used to experience seemingly opposite weather systems in two consecutive days. Or the same day, come to think of it.
So, I may be correct in saying “Hello, heatwave” after all. I could also be equally correct in saying “Hi, fog” or “How do, wind”, or even “Hope you’re well, rain”.
I’ve decided to respect the weather.
It always has a bad rap, it’s either too hot, or too cold, or too windy, or too wet. It is part of my life, so that makes it good. I love to walk in the sunshine, and I love to walk in the rain too!
I think one day I may learn to dance in the rain. I’ll have to learn to dance first, properly, that is. Although I don’t think the rain minds how I dance.
I don’t think the weather minds what I do. Should I really be mindful of what it does?
Apart from the rhythm the rain provides, the heat from the sun, the excitement of the lightning, the freshness of the wind, the mystery of the fog, the drama of the hail, the energy from the thunder, and the tranquility in between everything, I can’t think of a single reason why I should mind. And the reasons I have listed here are more celebrations than complaints anyway, so, in fact, I don’t mind.
Another reason to be happy. Another reason to feel good!
