And now, another deleted scene, or out-take, from Clark and my recent Six Sentence Serial, ‘…of Heroes and the Misunderstood’. This is posted for Denise’s Six Sentence Stories, and her prompt word this week is Swirl.

Apart from a few people behind desks and a couple walking toward the exit, the room was mostly empty; the bright lights a stark contrast to the dark and wet outside.
Moonbeam, with Rue DeNite following closely behind, hastily dashed across the polished tiles on the floor, looking for the IcelandDirect desk (which they found with relative ease), noticing the next flight was due to depart within the hour.
Moonbeam became aware of an unreasonable increase in security personnel as they approached the desk, around the room behind them and by and behind the desk in front of them… the security closed in as Moonbeam asked for two tickets to board the plane.
The desk clerk, a young girl with shoulder-length bleached blonde hair with some strands looking more like wire, stared at them through unreflective eyes behind a pair of round spectacles, a look that Moonbeam noticed on the faces of the security staff also. ‘We have no tickets available until tomorrow night now,’ the girl advised robotically, ‘all seats are booked up until then.’
Rue gently tapped Moonbeam’s right arm as she nodded up to the message that had appeared on the display above the desk, all flights from United Kingdom suspended due to severe storm conditions; she noticed the blank-eyed security now swirl completely around the desk… and them.
