Wait!
What’s up?
That phone box…
What about it?
Don’t you remember?
Er, no. Should I?
Er, yes! That was where we first met.
No, it wasn’t; we met under the clock tower in the precinct.
That was the third time we met.
The third time? Are you sure? We didn’t meet before the clock tower…
We did. We arranged to meet here, at the phone box the first time. I had the rose, you carried the newspaper.
The rose and the newspaper was for our second meeting at the station. We wore green macs for our first meeting at the clock tower.
No… the green macs we wore – that was at the art gallery.
The art gallery? I’ve never been to the art gallery.
Never? You have! You spilt your coffee in the café.
That wasn’t me. I don’t drink coffee and I don’t like art.
You…
And we… have you been meeting someone else?
No.
I’ve never been to this phone box before, nor the art gallery. We collided into each other under the clock tower… it was raining heavily, and we laughed as we wore the same mac. You asked for us to bring the rose and newspaper to our second meeting at the station, pretending we’d never met before.
Have another sip of your coffee.
Coffee? I don’t…
That’s it. Sit back… sleep. When you wake up, we’ll go through it again. You don’t remember us working together at the Foundation, which is good. We’ll get there.
