Hospes Libri (Guest Book)

Welcome to my new hospes libri.

In an anti-spam measure, I’m trying this as an experiment. It may work, it may not, but since I closed the comments on the other page, the unwanted comments have vastly reduced. I’ve added the English title to the page now, so I’ll keep my eye on the spam. Hopefully, the robots have now got bored!

  1. Hi Tom! 🙂

Yes, it was quite a sight and purely by chance that I saw anything at all! 🙂

Glad you won something Tom – Monday and Tuesday are going to be wet and horrible so I am hoping for a break in the weather so I can go get next week’s tickets! 🙂

    God Bless my friend! 🙂

Thanks for the best wishes – I can but hope! 🙂

Yeah so do I – I don’t want to turn this headcold into a dose of flu!!! 🙂

Right now the wind keeps gusting enough to wail through the air vents and it is cold, dark and wet out there!!! 🙂

But if I win the Big One you can be sure I’ll be happier than I have ever been!!! 🙂

First though I have to get the darned tickets… (Sigh!) 🙂

I’m feeling better, but I still have a headache and blocked nose that comes and goes…

As for the Ferrari and our roads – yeah I can quite agree!!! 🙂

Sounds like a tight fit! 🙂

I’ve NEVER been in a performance car and it’s on my ‘to do’ list! 🙂

I can imagine you needing a pry bar to lever you out of the seat! LoL!!!

Yeah. Two done, the first being edited and the second ready for the job, but the third will take some work.

I have a lot to learn about writing books… 😦

You feel very low down in a performance car – well I did anyway, as I used to drive a four-by-four and was sat way above the road… that was another reason why I couldn’t get out of the MGF. I’ve also driven an MR2 which wanted to drive me, which was a very strange experience!
I’m joining you on that learning curve, Prenin…

I have to keep restarting my modem every few days as it gets really slow and/or hangs up…

I need the phone to talk to mum, especially now that Hugh has had me decommission his PC ready for him to get a new one.

I’ve given up trying to talk sense to him – he’s a lost cause…

Yeah we’ve finally got sunlight here and the fog has lifted! 🙂

I’ve hit a snag with the books: Red wants to change where the first one ends and wants me to add a chapter which I can’t just do ‘on the fly’, so I’m having to think about it.

Add to that it’s shopping day and you can see I have a lot on my mind! 😦

It hasn’t happened for a year now, but I still get anxious.

Yeah Blood rain is on its way – boy am I glad I don’t own a car! LoL!!!

Yeah the thought of snow this early bothers me too – keeping my flat warm is something of a task.

In the past I isolated one room and heated only it, but these days I can afford to warm the whole flat, or at least until the government cuts my income! 😦

Yeah NPower just sent me a letter today saying prices are going up by around 9.5%.

They made a shedload of excuses as to why it had to happen! 😦

Apparently they’ve been keeping prices down as their bundle of excuses demanded they give us a price hike months ago…

Now we are expecting a cold winter so I guess I’ll be isolating a room and just living in that.

As I write there’s a breeze whistling around my front door and I turned off the heating about 2pm, so it’s getting chilly here!

Good job I’ve got central heating! 🙂

Yes, the evenings have become rather interesting and since Tony read our local dickheads the riot act it has been pretty quiet! 🙂

Friday was good, but I didn’t get to bed until 4.25am so I didn;t wake until 2.31pm.

Not having reason to stick to a routine I’ve been sleeping later and later.

It used to be because the medication made me sleep later, but these days it’s because I can’t sleep until I’m tired and have no reason to get up…

    1. Half of me likes your routine, Prenin, and half of me likes my very restrictive routine as well. I used to work a continental shift pattern and found I had a lot more time on my hands back then, and felt I was sleeping better because I wasn’t restricted by a set pattern. Nowadays because I work Monday to Friday I find I have to try to sleep when I’m not tired, which tends to have a knock on effect for days! But hey! We sleep eventually!

Yes, it’s cold. We’ve had snow in some parts of the country today, but thick frost here this morning. I didn’t see it, though, as I was catching up with my sleep at the time!

I worked a continental shift back when I lived with my dad, but he not only insisted that I pay him most of my wages he also had me as his housekeeper and I had to clean the house before I was permitted to sleep, so in the end it was killing me!

I much preferred a 9am – 5pm work shift though because I was able to handle the hours, even if my boss was ripping me off and having me work full time while being paid a part time wage… 😦

I got to bed around 4.30am and it was already down to 2’C or thereabouts, so I’m not looking forward to tonight.

Yes, I have the same chance as everyone else to win, but I could do with a big win this week.

I can’t go into details, but step dad Hugh did something really stupid – and that is to put it mildly – and could be in deep trouble, the possibility is that he could lose his pension which would leave him and mum penniless!!!

If I win a big amount I can help them, but if not then there’s not a damned thing I can do…

I love to daydream about what I’d do if I won, but now it has a ring of desperation in it…

I slept from about 9pm to 11am, then at 7.40pm I ran out of steam and only slept for an hour or so, waking up and going to my PC to look for the tap so I could have a sip of water! 🙂

Yes the weather was bad yesterday!

We had thick fog all day too and it got cold last night, but it’s clear today! 🙂

Yes, parts of the North got a dusting of the white stuff last night, but nothing here, just icy roads.

I’m hoping we see none as the kids like to snowball windows and create hassle…

Talk Talk seem to be rolling it out area by area.

Apparently the box can replay, pause and rewind live TV on their own channels, but I suspect that means I need a faster broadband connection and connecting it to my modem which will require about five metres of modem cable.

Either way I have no need of the service, so I won’t be applying for one.

The weather today is cold and clear, so we can expect a frosty day tomorrow.

My church are planning on burying a time capsule intending to keep it there for the next century.

I remember the one they made at Blue Peter.

When it was opened it was just full of green goo and almost nothing could be salvaged! 🙂

I STRONGLY suggest you make sure your car is topped up with antifreeze as Pat and Neil forgot to do their cars and now they have to worry about possible engine damage as they were away for a month with one of the cars stood on the driveway!!!

I for one am glad I don’t need to go anywhere this week although I MAY go to the evening service.

Money is short because my benefits are not a lot, but I’ll just miss out on the alcohol entirely this Christmas and, hopefully, I’ll be able to afford to go to the Christmas service.

It’s enough for a loaf of bread, but it’ll be another week before he gets his sick pay, so Monday he wants to use my phone to beg for another loan of the DHSS.

He gets just one more shot at it, then they’ll refuse to give him any more money.

Thing is that he has done all this to himself because he’s a control freak living a fantasy where HE controls them and not the other way around, which is the reality.

He sold me to a local gangster family who sold me on to investigative journalists and he went to great lengths to prove me to be Gay.

Thing is the problem has been resolved, but I have to go through all this bullshit because they work from a script and never deviate from it.

Give them something not in the script and they panic! 🙂

I just hope I lose all the weight I’ve been dreaming of – 105Kg is better than I was, but I need to get down to 98Kg which is the equivalent of losing seven bags of sugar! 🙂

Yeah, love her or loath her she did change things, not necessarily for the better, but she’s gone now and that’s something too many celebrated.

She was certainly a figure of division who cost this country a great deal and it was the poorest who paid for it.

I may have to keep Doug’s mate Matt handcuffed during the funeral though – he wants to throw rocks at her coffin!!! 🙂

Yes, it was warm here too, but by the time I got to bed the temperature was already dropping.

I’m looking forward to a few thunderstorms as they fascinate me! 🙂

I forgot I had the warning message last week, hence the confusion! 🙂

I had a pretty bad night, not sleeping because the government sent me a doomsday letter.

Seems that, insane or not, I’m going to be pushed back into the unemployment arena in an area where there are no jobs and even the fit and healthy can’t find employment despite them being harassed and persecuted for being unemployed.

The Eurovision song contest is a lot of fun and I’ve been recording it since 2006 and playing them back whenever I get bored! 🙂

I don’t vote – no point – but I do enjoy the music although the politics really piss me off! 😦

Hope you enjoy today’s semi-final, it’s on at 8pm on BBC 3 (Channel 7), but I set the VCR to record it while I sleep! 🙂

If I get both the semis and miss the final OK, but I’m not missing Doctor Who for anything!!! 🙂

Apparently some ‘fan’ (And I use the term loosely!) got to see the press viewing of the episode and put it down on the web, so I am avoiding all links in case I find it!!! 😦

I decided, on the spur of the moment, to have a go at cutting back some grass that was, like, 50ft tall. Grass cut (it looks terrible, but better than before – I’m not a gardener!) I’m now suffering from swollen, itchy eyes, and arms covered in little lumps and bumps under the skin, which are extremely itchy as well. Apparently changing the DNS codes in the router (???) fixes the problem temporarily, but as the problem is intermittent anyway we wouldn’t know if the change worked or not. And then, the problems reoccur anyway.
Apparently, TalkTalk and WordPress are aware of the problems, so hopefully between them a fix will be with us very shortly.

Thanks as always for the visit and comment! 🙂

I agree about the telephone scammer.

It has been the second time that I’ve had a dodgy Asian caller try and pull this kind of crap.

The first time I went along with it to see where it was leading and then dropped him cold, but this time I had the pleasure of taking the piss out of him! 🙂

I was going to make a note of his number and pass it on to the Police, but deleted it instead.

Next time his booty is mine!!! 🙂

Apparently it’ll be ready tomorrow, so we’re getting closer! 🙂

Being without the PS3 has left me tied to my VCR because I’ve been recording the latest Stargate SG1 series and it has given me something to keep my mind busy! 🙂

Plus there is sometimes some serious eye candy to enjoy and I love smart, sassy women! 🙂

I have two tickets next to me as I write and a promise to keep.

Success in the lottery will allow me to keep that promise, so stay tuned! 🙂

  128. Hi Tom! 🙂

Yes, Atlantis wasn’t as good and I don’t watch Stargate Universe either, mainly because I missed the start of the series.

Bad news on the PS3 front.

The repair was not done properly, the laser still doesn’t work, something inside died horribly and when I got back from returning the machine to be repaired again I found small amounts of un-cured sealant scattered on the computer desk where I set the PS3 up!

Looks like they did something to the cooling fans, because it went into emergency shut-down and the red warning light started flashing.

I took it back to be fixed AGAIN, but it looks like I’ll need to buy a new one and wave goodbye to my game saves.

I don’t mind re-doing ‘MotorStorm – Pacific Rift’, but I was up to level 27 on ‘Gran Tourismo 5’ and it’ll take ages to get back to that level!!! 😦

If they screw up again I’ll have to take my money back and wave goodbye to £187 when I buy a new one… 😦

God Bless – and pray they fix it! 😦

There is such a thing as safe nuclear power, but safe is expensive, (look up Canadian CANDU reactors) so they go for Pressurised Water Reactors which were originally 1Mw nuclear reactors for submarines that they scaled up for civilian use.

They are not fault tolerant, so the risks are greater.

Every time those in power talk about Nuclear energy I wince, because I know that the risks against the benefits simply do not match.

Plus the risks of nuclear material getting into the wrong hands… 😦

      1. I haven’t heard of a wind farm contaminating the countryside for the next 300 years, or a tidal generator poisoning the sea – but then I’m biased!!! 🙂

        CANDU reactors are fail safe.

They can lose all pumps and still SCRAM safely because they are designed to create Brownian currents which continue to cycle and cool the core.

Think of a pan – it boils water by circulating it.

A CANDU reactor pretty much does the same thing. 🙂

Hope that explains a few things about why our government is so willing to use dangerous PWR’s instead of the safer (but more expensive!) CANDU reactors…

      1. Wise man Tom! 🙂

I’m only on it to talk to my friends.

Mum joined and immediately went through my posts, then claimed the litany of abuse I went through as a kid that I wrote as a poem wasn’t true as if it was she would have stopped it.

I still remember the arguments, dad raving at mum who wouldn’t give him the excuse to hit her, then he’d come pounding up the stairs to attack us instead, but according to mum it didn’t happen… 😦

I have a second poem to post, but can’t in case she complains about it too!

        I’m strongly tempted to un-friend her… 😦

        God Bless my friend! 🙂

  162. Hi Tom! 🙂

Thanks for the visit and comment! 🙂

Yes, the mind is a strange thing isn’t it? 🙂

Yes we’ve had a few flakes down here in Manchester and a cold wind, but far too warm to stick thank goodness! 🙂

The night has been OK and it’s now 5.40am so I’m doing my Echores and just relaxing! 🙂

Hope you have a great Thursday my friend! 🙂

    1. The mind is odd and brilliant at the same time, Prenin! Or 75% one way or the other, although I’m having difficulty working out which way my mind is wired. A voice from the back just shouted don’t dwell on the brilliance too much… to which I replied ‘charming!’ – in my mind, of course!
Wet and windy here, but no snow! Yay!!!

  163. Hi Tom! 🙂

Thanks as always for the visit and comment! 🙂

Yes £20 Million doesn’t sound much once you’ve dreamed of winning £109 Million, but I think I could live off it!!! 🙂

Greed is an amazing thing isn’t it? 😉

    God Bless!

  164. Hi Tom! 🙂

Thanks for the visit and comment!!! 🙂

The art group is myself and another guy with three women and a fracking protester called Peter who runs it.

I had four false starts, but produced two creditable efforts, one a guy in power armour and the other a portrait of a woman.

To say I surprised Peter is an understatement!!! 🙂

Next week I’ll do a picture using Acrylic paints and I’m planning a scene from ‘MotorStorm – Pacific Rift’ which should be fun and take a few weeks to do.

It feels really weird to be drawing again, but it’s fun! 🙂

    God Bless my friend! 🙂
