Jewels

Stars like jewels fill the skies
Creating shapes in constellations
Like the clouds below them
Creating pareidolia
Or the people below them
Creating dreams
Only slightly more permanent.
Each jewel a stepping stone
Should the first step ever be taken

I feel magic in this piece, Tom. Pareidolia, a new word for me and I love it. Thus far, the responses to the prompt are amazing from Fibonacci sequences to a situation in which someone sees a pattern or image of something that doesn’t exist. I had no idea the image would draw such fascinating and knowledgeable responses. Thank you for joining in.

My pleasure, Eugenia. The magic you feel is that of creation, and just how close are dreams are within our grasps! Pareidolia is a fun word, isn’t it? It’s one of those things we experience most days, but don’t have the name for it! Now we do!
A good prompt should garner a varied response… you chose well! 🙂

I’m planning on doing a word search, Chris. I want to find the most wonderful archaic words that I can. And new ones too, I have to add!
      And thank you! 🙂

I just had this image of you pulling on a jacket and racing out the door in search of new words… 😉

😃 You’d have been almost right, if it weren’t for the jacket… or the door! 🤣

Love the imagery in this poem! I liked the way the poem began among the stars and descended to clouds, to the dreams of people…interesting perspective. And yes, Tom, you taught me a new word! ❤ All the best!

Thank you, Cheryl. Yes, we tend to think of our dreams as being out in the stars, so I decided to start there!
