I gave myself forty-five minutes to try and recreate an old fashioned photo, just using ink. No pencil sketching beforehand; just a case of start and then continue until the time is up. I ran out of time, needless to say, but I managed to get one side of the street in (although the rooftop gargoyles could have done with a little more work).
The people (yes, those funny looking blobs all over the place are people!) and the car (yes, that funny looking blob under the lamppost is a car!) were quickly added in the last ten secondsβ¦ and there were more people in the photo that I didnβt have time to include. The photo was taken in 1908, but I donβt think my sketch conveys that at all.
Still, forty-five minutes of doodling is a good way of creating than any other, I suppose! And a hundred and ten years in forty-five minutes is quite an achievement, I must say.
Wow…pretty good for such fast work.

I just drew what I saw, Raili. If I was making it up, my perspective wouldn’t be all that accurate!

LOL !!!! I was wondering what was under the street lamp! Thought it looked like a giant hat blowing down the street. The lines underneath it make it look like it was elevated. Well done TL!!! Not easy to do without the good old pencil and eraser! Really good job. A good way to challenge yourself…. VK π

It was fun, VK. I just wish I’d left the car and the people out of it, but they do add their own little something to it. Not sure what, but it’s there! π

I think that’s what I was aiming for with the figures, Prenin. With me, it didn’t just work out there!

Wowww!! So cool Tom! And on top of that, 110 years of history as it were, captured in 45 mins! You yravel through time even with art materials and paper on hand at remarkable speeds!! π

Well, it has to be done every once in a while, Icewolf. And there’s a lot of history there to capture as well!
